target The nomination of Beijing as the city where next Winter Games will occur in 2022, let up to an impor tant collaboration between the Politecnico and the university of Beijing. The main idea of the project was to restore some structures, built during the Olimpic Games Turin 2006 and then abandoned. The option was the bob-sleigh track in Cesana Pariol. Our aim was to find a possible solution to bring the bob-sleigh track back to life and the answer was recognized in the adoption of “hypogeum” architecture, just to create a clear building, integrated in the context and with a strong identity. Working out of this project, we carried out a typological research on the underground building. We recognized the factors that mainly influence the quality of the architectural design: topography, the exposure, landscape, energy efficiency and construction materials. We intended to maintain a spor ting structure, that’s why a par t of the bobslide track has been conver ted it in a rail system, so its function is always assured. In this way, the function of the bob track is guaranteed during all the seasons. This solution also allows a significant cut down of the operating costs of the structure.

target The castle is an outstanding example of the continuum in time and space of a building that could find its own identity in different ages. The project is an attempt to relate the old ruins to their surrounding and to the landscape. The mountain paths and the castle ruins are linked by a new walk path; the main purpose of the project is the attention to the nature. In fact, my design respects the whole natural environment and makes the guests feel a great connection with the nature around them, thanks to a renovated landscape planning. The safeguard of natural environment is guaranteed by limited and not invasive interventions in order to maintain a good relationship between people and nature. The new walkway allows the visitors to have different views of the castles and its surroundings and lets them feel the strong interaction between nature and the architecture as they can enjoy at the same time mountain environment and designed spaces.

MODULAR ELEMENTS A basic timber module composed of six modular elements: two slabs, two short and two long walls. The basic timber module can be used individually or in cluster in order to composing different forms for several uses.
1 x module Area: 8 m2 Guest: max. 1 Possible Configuration e.g.:T1 / T5 / T6 / T10 / T11 / T12 The smallest and basic module is designed as accommodation for adventurous guests. Otherwise it hosts facilities featured such as sauna bath, reading hall.
2 x module Area: 16 m2 Guest: max. 2 Possible Configuration e.g.:T1+T3/T2+T4/T2+T6/T2+T7/T2+T8 Two modules compose a single, private and cosy accommodation. The double-rooms layout thinks for both relax and adventure joy.
3 x module Area: 24 m2 Guest: max. 4 Possible Configuration e.g.:T2+T3+T8 / T2+T4+T10/T2+T2+T6 The triple module is designed to host demanding people; it looks like a nest. The interior design makes it a warm and restful space.
4 x module Area: 32 m2 Guest: max. 4 Possible Configuration e.g.:T2+T5+T9 +T10 / T2+T2+T3+T8 The biggest layout is characterized by the courtyard where a tree is planted. Feeling the nature is the trait, here more than elsewhere.

target The competition site is a little par t of the “Ospedale al Mare” complex. A linear plaza takes its place as a continuum design solution in order to connect all the buildings and give the feeling of unique and huge complex. The continuity of the area is created by the waves like an extension of the sea that undulating the surface seams to flood the site. The hollowed plot in front of the Marinoni building becomes the core of the site including many open-air activities and connections between the buildings. This square is a multi-functional space and meeting-point that attracts ever y day at any time both the inhabitants of Lido di Venezia and guests. The design project reaches the goal of transfor ming the site in a whole of functions, bringing into it new activities and enjoying the site at any time. The buildings are treated with only one transfor mation concept: preserve the structure, the façades and the ground floor, instead the upper floors and the roofs are the result of demolitions, moving back and additions of new volumes retreated behind the old façade.

target The project carried out during study “Architectural and Structural Design” had focused on the realization of the inter national competition “The hear t of the metropolis–Central Librar y Competition“. This competition involved the creation of a complex consisting of the new city librar y, a Spa and all activities that may qualify it as a new point for the citizen. To reach this objective, during the academic course, we have done different exercises of architectural compose. Thanks, this project phases it was bor n the for m for “iceberg” for the new building. (our source of inspiration was the project “nuvola” of Architect Fuksas). Our project was equipped by a double “building”, the first, (the iceberg), is the hear t of the complex, indeed there are the most of the service. While in the second, the envelope of glass, created to emphasize the project, there are the area of the librar y. Additional element created for secularizing the shape and the nature of the building is the glass Atrium. It, as well as being used to radiate naturally the interiors, moreover is used to connect the different floors by stairs and walkways.

target “Tor 44” is the name of the project of a new residential building in Turin. It consists in a building made by eight residential floors and a car parking. The total sur face of the building is about 1260 sq. m, of wich 950 are used as residential and private area and 300 sq. m. as a communal and technical space. There are 14 apar tments in the building, 11 are simplex and 3 are duplex. The load bearing inter nal structure consists in a diaphragm and pillars and it’s made of a mixture of concreate and steel, while the envelope is made of slab similar to masonr y (stone slabs). The ver tical modular patter n (bays) of this building creates a compositional har mony of the façade and deter minate the inter nal space. The different colors of the plaster (red and white), the various materials used and the volumes made by the rectangles create movement and rhythm in the building. The main task per for med by me was to follow the development of the building, creating executive drawings, technical details, and commercial plan.

target The aim of the masterplan is the redevelopment ofThe redevelopment of the site “Tour and Taxis” and its connection to the city is the main goal of the masterplan. The development plan is organized by zone and, in each of them, there are different typology of buildings. Ihe most impor tant feature of the site is its strategic position between the Molenbeek district (a ver y poor area characterized by a mix of different cultures) and the Schaerbeek district (a ver y rich and commercial areas). The coexistence of two such different reality so close one to the other results in a project that attempts to restore an equilibrium. The site consists in three different blocks of building, each one with a specific function. - the “solid”, which will host the services, commercial premises, residences; -the “block0” which contains buildings for family collectivises, and enable a reduction of costs of construction and sale; -the “light house” buildings below the gare mariteme, whose peculiarity is the brief life and economy.

target During the course“Building Infor mation Modelling”, I had the chance to better my knowledges on the parametric modelling and to understand how can encourage and facilitate control of the design process. During this academic work, after choosing an exists skyscraper building or is under construction, the course involved the modeling of that building. With the use of a Building infor mation modelling, like Revit, it’s possible to have a several advantages, for example, I used a mathematical for mula for create the torsion of the Tower designed by “Mad Architect”. Or for design the cur tain wall, I created a series of parameters on a single window and, thanks of this strategy it was possible repeated and applied to the entire building.
