The Bradley residence
(Lead designer)
This project in process was designed at Allison Ramsey Architects and subsequently built. The task was to create a guest sleeping space for adults and children. The room employs two queen sized beds with one twin sized bed raised above them. Storage is built in to the bunk stairs and under the beds for the family’s visitors.
The harold turpin park Performance theater As part of the redevelopment plan for the Harold Turpin Park, this project was commissioned to provide a range of shelters for the recreational uses of the surrounding community. The performance theater featured here is one of five other park structures designed as an Allison e n d e l e vat i o n
Ramsey Architects lead designer, to accommodate staged performance gatherings in the park.

The ellerbe residence floor plan in site
This project was done while interning as lead designer at Allison Ramsey Architects. The game shed at the Ellerbe residence was designed as a room for the display and storage of Mr. Ellerbe’s board game collection. The shed doubles as guest sleeping quarters, complete with a full bath. It also provides seating and a retractable surface, under the pull-down bed when stored, for gaming.

The naval heritage park (Lead Designer) This proposal is a redevelopment of the Naval Heritage Park. Existing parking was reconfigured, and a number of facilities were added, including a farmers’ market pavilion, bathroom and a storage building. An existing pavilion was relocated and a number of plaza like spaces were included in the proposal as well.

T h e A r n o l d Sma l l s ’ P ai n t shop - As Built Done for a local business owner, an existing storage building was to be converted into a automobile paint shop. The task was to create architectural drawings of the existing structure in order to complete feasibility and code studies. Measurements of the building were documented then drawn using Auto-Cad while working as lead designer at Allison Ramsey Architects during the summer of 2013.

The Malphrus residence Built according to the Shadowlawn house plan of Book One by Allison Ramsey Architects, the Malphrus family sought to alter the design of their house. They desired to move the fireplace in the keeping room from the north wall to the east wall. The floor plans were re-drawn to show what the change would look like as a proposal for construction. A gas fire pit was added to the now chimney free fireplace to supply ambient heat to the proposed floor plan
covered porch on the exterior of the building.

T h e b r o o k b e r r y pa v i l i o n (Lead designer) The Brookberry Pavilion was designed as part of the central community space in the heart of the Brookberry housing development. It contains a central performance space and two auxiliary spaces on each end of the structure. Within each of these spaces are double-sided fireplaces that give ambient heat to the interior and exterior spaces designed around them. This design accommodates multiple gatherings around the pavilion at the same time. Firewood is neatly stored within the frame both fireplaces for easy access.

T h e mci n t y r e r e s i d e n c e This project is my parent’s home in Sna Juan, Trinidad and Tobago. I have worked on its design while I was going to school as it constantly shifted. The design changed, the financing changed and the contractors changed. Such is the exciting challenge of design.
The McIntyre residence Designed to serve as a live-in and rental property, the McIntyre Residence is a home for empty nesters. The upper story contains guest spaces that visitors can rent for transient stays. Two one-bedroom apartments, in the basement level and open to the back yard from the underside of the site’s hillside, serve as rental properties. Occupants using the basement level are able f r o n t e l e vat i o n
to directly access the outdoor living spaces.

The construction An existing steel structure, fabricated for another site and design, was relocated to this site for the construction of this building. Additional structure was added to feature new balconies and stairways. Concrete Masonry Units are used as infill for the steel frame. The construction of each floor is phased to allow gradual construction as funding became available. Most of the labor is being done by family members and friends in

House plan design The design accommodates four self contained bedroom suites that share a separate entrance to the upper floor for short term guests and extended family. The main level where the home owners dwell is designed to be universally accessible. Natural ventilation through the main floor was a key consideration for its design as evident by the quantity of doors/openings.

Furniture design: Waste nothing The following projects are a result of accepting my self-imposed challenge to construct functional pieces of woodwork from the waste of other projects, without altering the shape of the wasted pieces. The project resulted in a number of small pieces designed for everyday use.

C e l l c h ai r d e s i g n Strips of wood shaved off a larger stock were glued together to make this cellphone chair. The idea for the project came from the need for a perch for a cellphone at my studio desk. The chair was constructed to be disassembled for easy packing and transport.

trivet design These trianglular wood scraps were used to make this artifact. The shapes were arranged and glued together to form a decorative pot holder, also known as a trivet. Walnut and Pine were arranged for their contrasting shades.

Lap t a b l e d e s i g n When a dining table is not available, this item can be used as an dining surface. It is just the right size for a small bowl or tea cup and pot, or for a cozy dinner while sitting in bed or on a couch. It was constructed from boards of a discarded booster seat. The lengths of each strip were arranged to create the uniquely shaped features of this particular project.

Bi r d h o u s e s f o r B o l i v ia : A s t y l i z e d h u mmi n g b i r d t r e e This project was commissioned as part of an annual Andrews University Architecture School auction of Bird Houses to fund a community for boys in Bolivia. My design featured a stylized tree branch for nesting Hummingbirds. The nest is usually perched at the intersections of branches of tree branches. Aluminum and copper wiring make up the “branches” and a wooden base of pine holds the sculpture upright. A pine “umbrella” covers the nesting area for protection from the elements.
