ALEXANDEr HoFMEiEr Graduate Architecture Student
ABouT I am a 25 years old architecture student in my first year of M.A. at the Nuremberg Institute of Technology. I am hard working and selfmotivated, but also enjoy life in many leisure activities like skateboarding, snowboarding, surfing - basically every sport with a board underneath me. I was born in Munich, but grew up in south Bavaria, which explains my passion for mountains and nature. My strengths in work are fast developing of conceptual ideas, alone or in a team, and being always positive about things. I learn really fast and am capable of understanding design-engineering tasks very well. 01

b 4.0 bubenreuth
m.a. year 1
visit prof. anne lacaton | prof. dr. richard woditsch This design focuses on the revitalization of the Hรถfner area as well as the adjacent violin-maker settlement. The whole area is to be integrated with versatile interventions in the daily lives of the citizens. A key factor in the processing is the subtle use of the existing buildings on the campus.
Due to the history of violin making in Bubenreuth the former violin factory is converted into a museum and replaces the existing exhibition in the town hall . The adjacent, historic row houses are to be renovated in individual controlled steps. Through living room extensions towards the garden and minimal internal changes, the row houses become multiusable appartments with generous open space. The total area is complemented by the construction of a luthier school for at least 36 students thus creating attractiveness to young people. Therefore this new building contains the central energy supply for the whole complex. A new S-Train station, E-Bikes and autonomous buses enable a car-free zone towards the historical center of South Bubenreuth.

new center prof. nadja letzel
m.a. year 1
Design for a new village center. Student competition 1st. place. The aim of this competition was to fill a void inside the center of the village Effeltrich in the near of Nuremberg. Due to the village‘s history in growing apple trees we developed a sort of „barn-module“ which provides flexible space that can be filled to compensate the needs of the inhabitants. Housing, space for associations to meet, small shops, and an extension of the city hall were required.

Spaltopia prof. niels jonkhans
Bachelor Thesis
Design for a climbing center with fitness areas and hotel. The different programme functions were stacked up to create a certain height for the building and then connected V through the vertical climbing-area. The „crack“ divides the building in two parts which are brought together by V circulating stairs and bridges. Through narrow and wider parts it creates different qualities of space throughout the climbing-area. The rooftop garden symbolises the mountain top and provides a fantastic view over Nuremberg and the Wöhrder lake. Crrk!

castle nbg prof. nadja letzel
year 3
Refurbishment of an adjoining building of the Nuremberg castle. The conservation of ancient monuments is very important for the city of Nuremberg as it was almost completely destroyed in WW2. Keeping that in mind I tried to design with box in box elements. Those provide space for a small visitors center whith cash register for the castle entrance.

Student housing prof. florian fischer
Design for a student housing in the center of Nuremberg. The concept was to use the existing roof structure and implant dwelling modules, which are flexible and provide private and shared space for about 70 students. Every module (shared or single) has its own outdoor space, which is also inside the roof pricipales but not behind glass. Here the students can grow their own stuff, like vegetables or others.
