Conceived by Ian Schrager in a partnership with Marriott International, Edition is a luxury hotel brand that appeals to all generations. The making of each Edition Hotel involves distinct designers that work to create unforseen spaces which speak to the culture of the respective cities. The brand is associated with simplicity, warmth, grace and purity. DISRUPTED SYMMETRY This design will act as an extension of the Nile River and the city of Cairo. Circular and rectilinear forms will reflect the strong geometric patterns of Islamic Architecture while allowing for modern elements to coincide. With a purified and sophisticated aesthetic, this urban hotel will be a hub for both tourists and locals. Taking advantage of its multigenerational platform, the space will serve as a safe and luxurious haven for hotel guests.

Little Stories is a children’s footwear company owned by two partners in Valencia, Spain. Their goal is to create unique experiences with three clear values in mind: play, simplicity and adaptability. Cartoonish lines and primary colors are characteristic of their branding story which encourages curved forms and arched openings. PLAYFUL EXUBERANCE In this proposal, the idea of freedom and liveliness will be reflected throughout the space as a reminder of what it means to be a kid. Abstract playground references will drive the design and reinforce the brand identity. The play on vertical elements as well as the push and pull of surfaces will bring a sense of depth and curiosity. An interactive mezzanine level will overlook the ground floor which is meant to provide immersive experiences fit for all age groups.

SOW A SEED Sow a Seed regularly serves and supports the Caribbean’s most vulnerable children starting with Haiti and in the areas of health & nutrition, education, shelter, and arts & recreation. Their mission is to bring hope, reduce hardship and promote sustainable change in the lives of these children. FRAGMENTED FLUIDITY The concept for this project is based on the idea of divergent pieces coming together to shape a better whole. Strongly driven by their mosaic murals, this design is also inspired by the company’s motto, ”collaborate for collective growth”. Diagonal lines will bring a sense of rhythm to the space which will in turn promote movement and encourage conversation.

MEDITATION POD This meditation pod is designed to fulfill the needs of Serenbe, a wellness community located on the edge of Atlanta. Built entirely out of cardboard, the 12’W x 8’D x 8’H structure can collapse and be disassembled into a moveable module. Embracing the use of sacred geometry within the planning of the neighborhood, this design is based on the golden ratio. The concave form enhances the sensory experience of the users by amplifying outdoor sounds and reinforcing the connection with nature. Hand cut perforations create soft, dappled light while maintaining the privacy of the ambiguously defined environment.

First public golf course in Atlanta, the Bobby Jones Golf Course opened in 1932 and undertook a transformation beginning in 2018. As the winning project of the SCADpro Interior Design Challenge, this proposal was in line with the foundation’s vision to grow the game of golf with a specific focus on juniors and adaptive golf. TIMELESS REINVENTION The concept of Timeless Reinvention will remain true to the Bobby Jones Golf Course story of renewal, with a refreshing reinterpretation of the traditional golf club. Characterized by simplified forms and curved elements, the design will blend comfort with innovation. It will attract all generations and serve as an enduring representation of the Bobby Jones legacy. The universally accessible spaces will incorporate existing furniture pieces and follow the client’s fixed budget.
