Jimmy Carter visited the Morrisania neighborhood in The Bronx in 1977 and was photographed at the intersection of Charlotte and Jennings Streets against a backdrop of devastation. Today that same site provides safe, affordable and permanent housing to domestic abuse survivors and their families, thanks to a creative partnership between nonprofit developer New Destiny Housing and Alexander Gorlin Architects.
