wearable technology
One of the key skills taught to novice chefs is knife skills and safety. This underpins most food preparation tasks and is vital to using kitchen equipment safely and effectively.
It’s difficult for people who enjoy cooking at home to learn new skills and advance their technique.
There are currently no products on the market which exploit wearable technology for food preparation and other tasks in the kitchen.
Developments in holographic technology have allowed immersive environments to be created whilst allowing the user to see and move freely.

CHOPPING BOARD The chopping board has a removable surface made from polyethylene. This allows the chopping surface to be replaced and cleaned easily. The board sits on five pressure sensor nodes which accurately detect the knife’s movements over the surface.

KNIFE The knife handle has a range of movement sensors, allowing for the user’s exact movement to be tracked. The power button is located on the back of the handle. When the knife is switched off the blade lock releases, allowing for safe removal of the blade.
KNIFE BLOCK The Knife block safely stores the blades when not in use. When a blade is securely in its slot an illuminated graphic is present on the front of the knife block. The handle is also stored and charged in the same unit, allowing for neat and compact organisiation of the products.

CHILLED DOORSTOP GROCERY STORAGE

removable ice pack Two reusable ice packs allow the cool box to stay chilled. These are mounted in the lid and base, and can be easily inserted or removed. Natural wool insulation in the wall of the cool box helps retain the internal temperature to ensure produce remains fresh.
Rfid Tags The secure cool box is unlocked by placing the RFID tag on the blue panel. Passive RFID allows the lock to function without the need for a power supply. The tag has a leather loop and can be easily placed on a key chain.
