Keep warm with layering It’s not a new idea – the military and mountaineers have been wearing layers for years – and now layering is coming to prominence in workwear as a way of staying warm and comfortable while still allowing movement and flexibility.

Step one Baselayer

Start with a base layer to manage your temperature, keeping you cool when it’s hot and warm when it’s cold. Sweat is drawn away from the body by the base layer to prevent chilling, and the warmth is retained by the insulation layer. Finally, the outer layer keeps the elements out.
