ALEXANDRA DOMINGUEZ

Design is a way to express your opinion on the world. As a creator, you control every pattern, color, and line. You weave back and forth and create a masterpiece that represents words. Organization and control are my tools when it comes to creating. I enjoy going beyond the digital surface and portraying elements of design in traditional media. Being able to be apart of the intricate web of creatives motivates me to constantly be inspired and always willing to learn. I am a designer. I am an illustrator. I am a fine artist.

MICHEAL EULER, INC.

OVERVIEW

CHALLENGE

SOLUTION

Micheal Euler, Inc. is a painting company located in Naples, Florida. They serve a high end clientele from residential homes to 5th/3rd Bank and Physician’s Regional Hospital. It is owned by two brothers who’s passion is painting. They focus on delivering a high quality, clean, and professional job to every wall they paint. Micheal Euler, Inc. has been in business for over 14 years and have definitely perfected what they do.

Micheal Euler, Inc. asked for a new look. A look that would represent who they were as a company, plus the fact that they are located in Naples, Florida. They wanted to show that they are professional, clean, and deliver a high quality product for a good price. You get what you pay for, and Micheal Euler, Inc. is fully licensed and has years of experience.

Taking in consideration of what the brothers asked for, I gave them a logo that was hand draw then vectorized so it was as hands on as they are. Instead of using the traditional palm tree image that many other companies use, I illustrated a flower from a palm tree, which is much more unique. Next I changed their tag line in the logo so that is was more elegant sounding. I applied these ideas to business cards for the brothers, a letterhead, envelopes, shirts (which the worker wear on job sites), and hats. Lastly, I gave their work vans an over-haul so they were just as unique as the rest of Micheal Euler, Inc., they stand out, but in a good way!

EXTRAORDINARY

OVERVIEW

CHALLENGE

SOLUTION

Extraordinary is an original magazine the I created a few years ago. It is a for parents/guardians who have special needs children in their life. It gathers current information into one convenient magazine for those busy parents. It is filled with up to date information and tips on many different subjects dealing with children. Extraordinary is a magazine to provide awareness, educate, and inspire everyone who reads it.

Create an original parenting magazine that is both informational, and beautiful to look at. The whole goal is for the magazine to be easy to read, understand, and convenient.

A beautiful magazine the is functional, inspirational, and provides important information.

EASTER SEALS

OVERVIEW

CHALLENGE

SOLUTION

“Easter Seals provides exceptional services, education, outreach, and advocacy so that people living with autism and other disabilities can live, learn, work and play in our communities. Easter Seals has been helping individuals with disabilities and special needs, and their families, live better lives for more than 90 years. From child development centers to physical rehabilitation and job training for people with disabilities, Easter Seals offers a variety of services to help people with disabilities address life’s challenges and achieve personal goals”.

Illustrate a poster that will create awareness for this beautiful non-profit organization. While keeping in mind their mission statement, overall goal as an organization, and the individual people that they help.

I created three posters that show three different people who each have a goal. The posters have the same basic layout, but the text and color change to match the person featured on the poster. This is such a positive organization that I really made sure to keep the images happy and uplifting. I did send Easter Seals my three posters when they were complete and they sent me a wonderful letter in return.

AMBER’S ANTIBODIES

OVERVIEW

CHALLENGE

SOLUTION

Amber’s Antibodies is a non-profit organization dedicated to help raise money for people who are fighting cancer. Amber herself, is a 9+ year brain cancer survivor and devoted herself, with the help of her family and friends, to this organization. They provide hope and support for people and their families who are touched by cancer.

Create an identity that would feel positive and supportive. Amber’s Antibodies needed business cards, stationary, and a website that was cohesive.

The logo I created is based off of what an antibody looks like. I repeated the design through out because it is such an important symbol for someone who is fighting cancer. The pattern on the web home page, and the letterhead, is what happens when the antibodies link together when fighting a toxin in the body, which I thought was perfect to symbolize the body fighting cancer and the people of Amber’s Antibodies coming together to support people with cancer.

BRAUN

OVERVIEW

CHALLENGE

SOLUTION

Braun is a company that makes electric shavers. They have many different seires of shavers depending on the needs of the person using it.

Ad campaign that would target a younger target audience, that were also interactive. Create awareness for the different electric shavers and what they are all capable of.

Three advertisements that feature a different guy in each. I decided to pair Braun with the No-Shave November event. A lot of men participate each year in this event, so it will cover a large target audience, it is already well know. Also, many men want to know what kind of facial hair they prefer on them, so having this in the ads will add to the amount of men participating.

FLAGLER COLLEGE

OVERVIEW

CHALLENGE

SOLUTION

Flagler College is a private school in St. Augustine Florida. “At Flagler, there is a depth that is hard to describe and even harder to match. A standard of excellence consistently recognized by education journals across the country. A quality of life possible only in one of the most historic and visually stunning places you will ever see”.

Create a set of posters to help freshman remember which building is which on campus. Each showing the building, what it is mostly used for, and where it is at. They should be easy to read and understand, as freshman are the newest to the campus. Also, they can be used by potential students who are taking a tour of the campus.

I created four unique posters for Flagler College. Each poster has it’s own hand draw illustration, which was then vectorized in Illustrator. If the building does not have it’s name illustrated on the front of it, then the poster has the name of the building, what it’s function is, and the address of the building.

FROM HERE TO EYRE

OVERVIEW

CHALLENGE

SOLUTION

From Here to Eyre is a small business started by a young woman named Jamie Gardner. Her passions are reading, creative writing, and sewing. She wanted to share her creation with other people, so she started From Here to Eyre. There are clothing items, book purses, and hair bows.

Provide an identity for From Here to Eyre. It is a business based on the web, so other than business cards, stationary is not needed. Ms. Gardner needed a look that would match her bubble, fun, and very girly personality.

I gave Jamie a look that is as fun as she is. The logo represents the bows that she started making, which originally gave her the idea to start this business. From Here to Eyre now has it’s own website where customer can shop until they drop, plus some advertisements that can be scattered around the web. Lastly, I created a business card that tied everything together.

CHUAO CHOCOLATIER

OVERVIEW

CHALLENGE

SOLUTION

Chuao Chocolatier is a very unique chocolate company. “Unusual flavor combinations are at the heart of Chuao Chocolatier unique experience including: Firecracker, a chipotle caramel fudge truffle with popping candy, a hint of salt, and dark chocolate and Pan Con Chocolate, a dark chocolate bonbon filled with roasted Panko bread crumbs and olive oil ganache with a touch of sea salt. This company was then paired with the World Wild Life Foundation, to help raise money for some special endangered animals.

Create a product the show cases Chuao Chocolatier chocolates and some of the unique animals from the endangered species list.

I paired up each unique chocolate with an even more unique animal, these are not your typical chocolates so I used less know animals. Second, the chocolate is hand made, so I hand illustrated each animal. The illustrations turned out so well that I decided to print them onto re-usable tote bags, with the color of the bag matching with the chocolate the animal was originally paired with. This way, the totes will be around a long time and continually raise money for WWF.

PERSONAL ART

OVER VIEW A small collection of the fine art work that I have done over the years of being at Flagler College. Some of them are illustrations, some are paintings, and some are portraits.

DISH WARE

OVERVIEW

CHALLENGE

SOLUTION

Corelle is a company that manufactures “bakeware, dinnerware, kitchen and household tools to range-top cookware, storage and cutlery”.

Update four popular lines of dish ware. The floral design, the apple pattern, the black and white shapes, and the geometric patterned dishes. Create a more modern look that will attract a younger target audience.

I redesigned each pattern from the ground up, starting with the floral design. For each set I applied the new updated look to Corelle’s new line of dish ware, the square plates (a new look all around). For each of the four sets, I laid the new design on a big and small square plate, and bowl, and a mug so that you could get a general feel for how the finish set would look.
