My journey began when I was 5 years old. I did chores to earn my first camera - a crayola brand film camera. I took it with me everywhere, and clearly remember thinking it was very important to capture moments from a trip to Disneyland with my family - but I also knew the film was precious, and I was so afraid of wasting it, so I took very few frames. Later on, I borrowed my parents’ 2 megapixel digital camera to take photos of buildings and monuments on a trip to DC. I was enthralled with the possibility of capturing pieces of a vacation in a creative way to share with friends back home. In my sophomore year of high school, I enrolled in a film photography class, where we made images on black and white film using manual-control cameras. The first time I developed an image in the darkroom and saw the image slowly appear on a blank sheet of paper, I was hooked. I had found my passion. That was it. Then, at 16, I got a job at the local camera store so that I could save up for my first DSLR camera. I continued working over the years, adding lenses to my gear bag and learning the basics of digital photography. I took photos of flowers, bridges, and my brothers. I had no idea

my passion for photography could turn into a career until my senior year when I was asked to take senior photos for a friend of mine, and a year later I was asked to shoot my first wedding. Between that first senior session and now, I haven’t slowed down in my effort to improve my craft, invest in the best equipment, and provide a stress-free client experience for all my couples. I decided to specialize in weddings so that I can help provide you with memories from your wedding day: the way your bouquet looked, the emotions your husband went through before he saw you in your dress, your mom’s face when she helped zip up your gown, and the guests admiring you at the ceremony. As a recent bride myself, I know how blurry the day can become in your memory, even in the weeks after, so receiving the photos is like receiving a tangible gift of memory. I get the biggest thrill from capturing a moment I know you’ll love re-living over and over again. That’s why I do what I do.

“p r o fe s s io n alism & kindne ss” Alexandra was a joy to work with. At first my husband was hesitant to be in front of a camera and to have an audience capture such personal moments, but Alexandra’s professionalism and kindness put us both right at ease. She had plenty of ideas for pictures when we didn’t, yet also captured all the moments that we wanted. All our friends say that our wedding photos are “breakthtaking” and I happen to agree. Thanks Alexandra! Mary & Kenton

“ou r p h o to gr a phe r fo r life You are so talented! I recommend you to everyone. And just a heads up... you are our photographer for life, so as we add on both children and pounds - you will be there to capture it all. Amy & Jesus

q u e st i o n s t o ask your photographer WHAT IS INCLUDED? Make sure you are fully aware of the digital and tangible products you will be receiving. While some photographers charge extra for digital files, others include those digital files with the cost of photography coverage. All of my packages include the digital files for weddings. This means that when I’m done processing your images, I’ll send you a link that includes all the downloadable files. Then you can print, share on Facebook, and download at your leisure. These files are “high resolution”, which essentially means you aren’t limited in the size you can print them at. This business model is called “shoot and share”, and is based on being paid up front for my time covering your wedding, rather than making a profit on products after the wedding. DO YOU PROVIDE ALBUMS? In addition to digital files, I like to provide tangible products for my clients to take home, treasure, share with visitors to their home, and pass on to their children.

While I’m a huge fan of social media and sharing photos online, I want to make sure your images are just as easy to share with your children and your grandchildren. In light of the ever-changing nature of technology and social media (new computers are now being sold without CD drives, and most tablets don’t even have USB ports), I offer classic, high-quality albums and print products. These albums and prints become heirlooms as your family begins to change and grow. While studying at Oregon State University for my graphic design degree, I learned about the importance of telling a story in photography through sequencing. Because of this background, I capture weddings with the intention of creating an album that will tell the story of your day, from the moment your mom zips up your dress to your first kiss as husband and wife, to the party on the dance floor! I custom-design each album in a way that captures the spirit of your special day. See my package list for details on album pricing.

What is your turnaround time? Another thing to be aware of while hiring a photographer is their turnaround time for editing. Will you be waiting 6 weeks or 6 months to see your wedding photos? My personal turnaround time is about 4-6 weeks, depending on the season. My goal is to deliver you highquality images in a timely fashion so that you can enjoy your photos while the memories are still fresh. How much do you edit the photos? My editing technique is minimal, because my goal is always to capture natural beauty in the best light possible when I adjust my settings and click the shutter. With that being said, I always take the time to color-correct each image to make sure it reflects the mood and styling of your wedding. What equipment do you use? I use a full frame digital nikon equipment and medium format Pentax film equipment. Film offers the timeless and romantic feel for portraits, where digital allows me to capture and deliver many images in a short amount of time for fast-paced events.

Do you travel? I love traveling! Contact me with the details of your wedding for a custom quote. Why should we do a first look? The first look allows you to spend a bigger portion of your wedding day with your fiance by taking portraits before the ceremony. It allows your timeline to be a bit relaxed and you’ll have more time to join your guests at the party! The first look is a time for you to see each other privately without the pressure of a crowd, which means you get to hear what your groom thinks about your dress! When and how to we book you? Most brides contact me 6-12 months before their wedding date to make sure I’m available. This usually happens after the venue has been booked. After we’ve met and had a chance to discuss details, you can book me by filling out my online contract and paying the online invoice for the 50% downpayment.

dreamy. ear thy. ro m a n tic . How do I describe my style? Oh, this is a tough question! I asked some of my friends to help me out, and they agreed on these words to describe my work: dreamy, earthy, and romantic. While photojournalism is the technique that forms the base layer of documenting a wedding (capturing events as they occur), fine art wedding photographers take an active role in directing, lighting, and composing each frame to make sure it reflects the true and natural beauty of you and your surroundings. As a recent bride myself, I know how much energy and thought you’ve put into each detail of your wedding. It’s a customdesigned event by you, for your friends and family. That’s why my aim is to craft a collection of images that capture the emotions, colors, and look & feel of your wedding.
