VISIT CANTERBURY! CANTERBURY CATHEDRAL

Visit Canterbury and discover some of the best things to do in Canterbury. You’ll discover why it’s the jewel in Kent’s crown. Buzzing with a youthful vibe thanks to the UNIVERSITIES, Canterbury also excels at the historic. Parts of the magnificent Canterbury Cathedral date back to the 11th century. Archbishop Thomas Becket was murdered there in 1170, one of of medieval Europe’s great places of pilgrimage and knowledge.

In regenerated Folkestone quaint streets meet cutting-edge art. In the CREATIVE QUARTER 100 artistic enterprises fill the cobbled, historic heart of town, along with pastel-painted studio-galleries, quirky stores, cool bars and chic eateries. The world’s first multi storey skate park is to be built in Folkestone creative quarter IN 2017 for the Roger De Haan Charitable Trust. A short stroll away, the mile-long clifftop promenade of The Leas offers SEA VIEWS TO FRANCE. Ride the historic Leas Lift down to the Lower Leas Coastal Park for a picnic or a BBQ, then get some sand between your toes on Folkestone's Sunny Sands beach. Restaurants abound; try ROCKSALT for super-fresh fish and superb harbour views. Eurotunnel Le Shuttle brings FRANCE closer too; from Folkestone, Calais is just 35 minutes away

First opened in the 1860s, Dreamland is the oldest amusement park in the UK. Margate now echos again with the sounds (and screams) of delight and wonder, as visitors old and young enjoy the Great British seaside amusement experience first-hand being reopened in 2011. The UK’s original Pleasure Park has been re-imagined, ready to welcome a new generation of fun-seeking visitors to an ‘old fashioned, yet oh-so-fashionable’ world of thrills, amusements and good times. There’s more than just brilliant retro rides and amusements. Dreamland is a world where vintage cool holds hands with modern design, and goes for a lovely beachside stroll

MARGATE OLD TOWN & THE BEACH Margate’s old town is a great place to just roam around and visit the little antiquities, coffe shops, vintage clothing and so much more. Since the old town is very small, close to the sea, you definitely need to sit down for a cuppa by the beach! It has a great atmosphere to while a day away and it’s easy to fall in love with this part of Margate.

Proposed Hotel

HOTELS IN MARGATE: The proposal for the Horsers Corner Site responds to

the increased demand for hotel rooms, which has been identified since the opening of the Turner Contemporary and the recent rejuvenation of Dreamland, both of which have given Margate a new sense of place and identity in the midst of the town’s revival, and have raised visitor numbers.
