This portfolio contains work that is divided into two parts: The first includes different projects from fields outside of architecture, including Graphic Design, Brand Design and abstract 3d art. These showcase my ability to shift into another creative field and how I can use the skills that I have acquired while working and studying architecture for other purposes. The second part is a series of design projects that I have developed during my studiesin the Architecture Department of the University of Patras, including my Diploma thesis. Alongside these you can find a few competition entries. Moreover, you can find my visualisation portfolio, with a series of rendered images that I had the pleasure to create while working as a 3d artist at bloomimages Berlin.

Alexandros Tzoutsas 24.03.1995 / Greek, Australian Nationality Berlin, Germany alexandrostzoutsas@gmail.com +49 1789186012 https://www.linkedin.com/in/alexandros-tzoutsas-40974022b/ I am an experienced 3d artist with an architectural background in conceptualisation and design practices. As an architect I believe strongly in the visual narration of concepts that have a lot to do with the social engagement of people with architecture. These concepts that I am deeply interested in, usually transcend the physical plane and take the focus back to the essentials of an architectural project: the feeling, atmosphere and essence of a designed space. As a designer I’m passionate about the research aspect that lies behind every brief: how can one lay down a meticulous framework that will later on show itself the directions that a project can be pushed towards?Personally, I think that in every project the conditions that can bore a well functioning solution already exist there from the beginning: all we have to do is look closer. As a 3d artist, I feel that behind every image there is a story that is being told through a different visual language every time. I had the pleasure of further exploring the storytelling aspect of photorealistic rendering at my last position, where I developed my skills and tried to make my creative process more structured and defined. At the same time I fully enjoy communicating on a one-on-one level with the clients, since I pride myself in my organisational and talking skills.

Hallucinatory Terrains - Diploma Thesis - MAR 2022 Throughout human history, people have used their natural inclination towards narrative to further understand the world around them and to analyse the structures and meanings it holds. These stories are so powerful for the emotional and spiritual evolution of humanity that we still tell them to each other today. Myths have the ability to embody the beliefs of an entire society and provide the universal realisation that people must identify first and foremost with each other and with the entire planet. Starting with the assumption that a virtual world is created in which I wander, travel and explore, a scenario is created where the users or visitors of this virtual reality enter it like the heroes of a mythological story. The classic archetypal hero’s journey is thus reproduced, only this time it takes place in a purely virtual environment. This universe is defined by specific characteristics of mythological entities, focusing on different aspects of liminality derived from Greek and Roman myths.

Music Album Covers and Flyers - Freelancing work / JUN 2021 - JUN 2022 The following pages include freelancing work that I did for friends and clients who are musicians and/or work in the music industry. The conceptualization of these images was carried out in collaboration with the artists and included a back and forth from sketching out initial ideas, to showing the first 3d models and specifying the mood and atmosphere for each image as well as designing the graphic elements to be included in every piece. These images show the versatility that a music cover or a poster/flyer for a party can have, to the point where it becomes digital art itself.

Logo Redesign - Further Education project - MAY 2022 This project was part of my Further Education in Motion Design and was completed as the final part of the second module which was on Graphic Design and Basic Elements of Corporate Design. The brief was about redesigning a famous logo and creating a new visual language for it. My team and I selected the iconic Kellogg’s logo and tried to keep it as close as possible to the original, but to give it a more modern and minimalistic aesthetic. Here you can see the new proposed idea as well as a couple of mockups showing the ability of the new design to set itself outside of the food industry.

Motion Design work and Abstract 3d Art - Further Education projects / MAR 2022 - JUN 2022 In this last part of my portfolio I have included stills from Motion Design works that I have created either alone or as small projects in my Further Education. These include some stills from perfume bottle ads as well as a couple of abstract 3d art compositions.

Here you can see my ability to create abstract forms that can be used both in the commercial world but can also stand out on their own as seperate 3d works of art. For these works I have modelled mostly everything in 3d using Cinema 4d and then created the different scenes in After Effects or cut the videos in Premiere myself.

palus intensio - Design Studio - Coastal Domains Attica - FEB 2017 The proposed strategy addresses Schinias as a constantly changing landscape due to its hydrological texture. Following the in-depth investigation and mapping of the relationships and dynamics between the different areas and zones of the National Park in relation to time, it became apparent that the existence of such a large body of water is the main reason for the gradual yet continuous change within the landscape. Palus intensio : wetlands in tension envisions new mechanisms for regulating the quantity and quality of water proportionally in space and time in order to increase the intensity with which the landscape is altering.Furthermore, these devices are placed strategically in the grounds of the National Park in order to solve the existing problems of the aquifer while protecting the ecosystem altogether. The National Park of Schinias remains a living but reconstructed organism that co-exists and encourages human presence through multiple new programmes.

Nuovo Stato - Design Studio - Coastal Domains Domini da Mar - JUN 2018
07
The mercantilism of the Venice empire was the first form of global economical and commercial ruling through a system of connected domains. At the same time, tourism development as the main economic pillar of the Dalmatia and Istria countries is growing rapidly resulting in the environmental degradation of the coastline. The project explores a paradoxical condition, an ambiguous status that is situated between tourism and modern manufacture trends, past and future time. The Nuovo Stato, acts as an alliance of economic growth between the countries that is rooted in an imaginary or artificial island which hosts a speculative collection of re-imagined architectural and landscape elements. Through its allegorical storyline this new offshore non-place incorporates clashing programs by suggesting a surreal tourist experience. In the final moment, by arriving at this island you should ask yourself: is this a place of heavy industrial and commercial use or a celebratory condition of bliss?

New Cyprus Museum - Architectural Competition Design Entry - FEB 2017 The New Cyrpus Museum is integrated in a Unified Cultural District for Nicosia. The streets to NCM East are turned pedestrian, creating a large public space, connecting to the Park and the old Museum. The NCM is framed by three Edges: a wall, a park and a public stage. These are filters to the street, river and public space beyond. A continuous public level at NCM’s center organises program, circulation, inside and outside, Culture and Cultivation. A grid is overlaid on the site aligned with the city’s walls, generating voids and incisions regulating the NCM’S plan. NCM recreates a process of Archaeological Discovery and nurtures knowledge under a major public park. It looks out to nicosia from an Elevated civic platfrom. A public rooftop park covers the NCM connecting to the river city and park. A luminous core centers on the NCM’s public level. It contains artifacts and knowledge: temporary and permanent exhibition, conference, library and the Antiquities Department.

SESRCC - Design Studio : Architectural Design 6.0 - JUN 2018 The Spartolakas area is interpreted as a dynamic post-industrial landscape in which a kind of rehabilitation is attempted that deviates from the conventional meaning of the term. The strategy of intervention is organized as the establishment of a new community, thus making human presence the means of rehabilitation. More specifically, it is achieved by creating a series of programs such as: An institue the studies geological time, as well as all the supporting infrastructures where the members of the community will work and live. Interior infrastructure for a local festival where the knowledge produced at the institute is shown to the public. A network of earth and sky observatories. The reconstitution of the old cable car line and an inland promenade.
