Things To Find Out Before A Childs Photo Session Most of us can remember that childhood photo in a scrapbook where you have a tight smile for the camera with some red puffy eyes and a couple tears rolling down your cheeks. Kids photography hardly ever goes as planned and can move south quickly, even with the best of intentions, which results in a less than excellent memory to look back on. Listed are a couple way to come home with the most amazing pictures from your professional photo shoot. Location To begin with, have a talk to the photographer about where you would like the pictures to be taken. If you will be in a studio, arrive a little early and give your little one a chance to poke around and explore the environment. If allowed, watch a few minutes of an earlier session to plant the seed of what is going to occur. Before you expect your kids to sit by themselves on a chair or with a back drop to "perform," allow your child a couple minutes to get used to the room. You might want to consider walking your child through it verbally, and physically whenever possible, so they don't get scared or confused by all the direction after the camera starts pointing at them. If you're doing the shoot at a different location, offer your kids a chance to run and play beforehand and you'll find a couple key spots that they like. For instance, if it's at a park, you can get a feel for which equipment draws a smile from them and where they feel comfortable. When you're in a more natural setting, you may be surprised that a little rock might be the perfect place for them to sit and gives them nothing but smiles to sit on it. Work together with the photographer to see whether you could have input as to where the shoot is held. Decide on a place that your child likes, when this is possible and one that may be a little more exciting and offer more genuine smiles. The Clothing It might be hard to take the new, pressed outfit and let the child touch it, when the normally wear bananas and peanut butter on their clothes. However, stage a brief dress up session a few days before the shoot to ensure that there are no parts of the clothing that are ill-fitting or cause discomfort. Plus, if your little one decides that they don't care for the outfit and are forced to put it on that day, they may likely take this out in the form of less than delighted expressions for the photographer. But, if they like it, then this will be a big advantage to help get a bit of excitement with the outfit and the picture day. Even better, consider letting your mini-me participate in the outfit picking to guarantee cooperation. This can also pertain to hats, hair styles and any other accessory that you'd like to use. The Props That floppy eared bunny might have seen some better days, but in the long run, will he be part of the identity in this era in your child’s life? Consider bringing the animal along, if this sounds like the case, once you've washed it for a few pictures, or have your child pick a couple of other things that are special to them. Props are supplied to help get a smile, throughout the child's photo session, but it's unlikely that these will have any sentimental meaning for the child. By doing this, you can have a reminder of the favorites that went along with this age, and your child will have a PortlandPhotoStudio.com
