Bringing together places to live and work, with galleries, studios, shops, cafes and restaurants, the mixed-use district is designed to capture and recreate the energy and unique urban character of Hong Kong, integrating the cultural venues with the everyday life of the city.

• Because of the arrangement of the building blocks, the users have to travel from a building to a building or from a point to a point. • Eventually, it will form a kind of linearity movement pattern. • When it comes to the park or the open space area, it will transform to a more flexible movement pattern.

Travelling within the District will be fast, easy and eco-friendly. • A pleasant, traffic-free, pedestrian-friendly environment will be made available to visitors, by putting vehicular traffic underground • The compact layout allows the creation of 23 hectares of public open space and minimizes distances between the District’s new cultural and infrastructure • The Avenue will be the major activity spine providing shade and direct access throughout the entire district • Environmentally friendly transport system buses will be used to serve the Cultural District

The District will be closely connected with its neighbourhood, with footbridges and subways to link the District with Jordan and Tsim Sha Tsui areas linked with the public transport system at MTR Kowloon Station and Austin Station, connecting the District with other parts of Hong Kong To enhance connectivity to other districts and beyond, direct pedestrian linkages are proposed to connect the District to adjacent public transport nodes The Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link, Airport Express, and cross-border ferry and coach terminuses

Bringing the countryside into the city as passive design strategy for natural shading and provides green sceneries.

Entire district raised 3 meters above its current elevation to increase the size of the green and public spaces above.
•
The section cut of the building shows the effectiveness sun shading using the building form and trees against the hot sun in Hong Kong.

FORM • Designed to achieve carbon neutral status through highly efficient buildings and low-energy infrastructure. • The low-energy design includes district cooling/heating, grey water recycling, energy recovery systems for sewage, recycling, a waste-toenergy plant, and provisions for solar and wind energy generation.

S U S T A I N A B I L I T Y ACTIVITY • City Park seamlessly blend into the existing streets and the various multipurpose buildings including cultural venues, shops and facilities acting as main linkage linking each other. • The expansion of green spaces which let the community more indulge into nature and not spending time in activities which consume energy resources and bad for health.

(Eg. People can walk around the park for relaxation while during rest time of working hours .
