IN THE SPRING SEMESTER OF THE YEAR 2022, WE GIVEN THREE SITE TO BUILD ON. MY CHOSEN SITE WAS THE APACHE SITE. THE REASON WHY? IS BECAUSE THE SITE WAS HARD IN THE ASPECT OF THE COMMUNITY LIVING THERE, AND THE COMBINATION OF BOTH A COMMERCIAL, AND RESIDENTIAL ZONING. ANOTHER THING THAT WAS HARD ABOUT THIS LOCATION WAS THE HISTORY OF THE LAND. ONE OF THE CONSTRAINTS WAS THE HEIGHT OF THE REST OF THE BUILDING, AND THE FREEWAY. SINCE THIS LOCATION WAS SURROUNDED BY HOUSING AND OTHER COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS NO TALLER THAN 10’. I DID NOT WANT TO CREATE SOMETHING THAT DISCONNECTED THE COMMUNITY, BUT BLEND WITHIN THE COMMUNITY AROUND. WHAT I DID IS THAT I CONSTRUCTED AN UNDERGROUND LIBRARY THAT NOT ALSO HELPED TO CONTROL THE NOISE FROM THE FREEWAY, BUT ALSO PROVIDED A BALANCE OF A NICE ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN WITHIN A HOUSING COMMUNITY IN ORDER TO BRING FOR PEOPLE A NICE BUILDING TO GIVE THEM A COMMUNITY EXPERIENCE, AND ALSO AN EXPERIENCE FOR BOTH VISITORS AND LOCALS.

In the housing project Bridgewood Community, both my partner and I worked in a multi-family residential building that had to have at least 20 units. We designed a multi- family residential housing in the location of Mesa, AZ. The difficult part of this site was to create a residential area in a residential area that had a highway next to the site, a park, and a school on the West of the site. We wanted to create a housing unit that allowed all types of ages into this site. Our goal was to fit twenty units in 2.44 acres with different units. So we decided to add houses of 60’X 60’, and 30’X60’ including a bridge in the center of the site in order to create a direction for the people to walk into the site amenities. The bridge is the heart of the site in order to support that idea of a community and plays a huge role for people to move around the second floor.

MOVEMENTS OF ART THEATER
The Movement of art is located in the city of Phoenix, on central Ave and McDowell. Concept of the design was based on the local artists located in the valley, but not just for theater audiences. We want more people coming to the Phoenix Theatre Company from all ages, so I wanted to involve more of the fine arts. How? Well that’s by creating weekly, or monthly events such as mega fine arts performances in which many people can come to visit. So By creating a mega performance fine art concert, we can gather and bring more younger crowds to watch their kids perform at the Movements of Art theater. Rosie is a Music Academy that we will share our space with. Creating a space for young kids to learn about fine arts. Local family events, and for more of a community, but most importantly supporting local artists for the future. In the space we can see a theater being shared as a performance base, meaning that we will create a community of fine arts for people to come and enjoy.

THIS PROJECT IS BASED ON A SERIES OF PROGRAMS SUCH AS: TO CUT, MOVE, AND COMBINE. WE WERE GIVEN REAL LIFE DESIGNED PROJECTS AROUND THE WORLD, IN WHICH WE HAD TO TRANSFORM THEM INTO NEW SPACES. HERE WHAT I DID IS THAT I CUT HALF OF THE SATELLITE TOWERS. SECONDLY, MOVED THE REST OF THE TOWERS TO THE OTHER HALF, SO THAT THEY STILL STAYED CONNECTED. LASTLY, I BENDED ON PART OF THE TOWER. THE VISION OF THIS FIRST PROJECT WAS TO CREATE A NEW OPEN SPACE OUTDOOR FOR ANY ONE TO STILL USE AS A LANDMARK IN A CITY. TO ALLOW ONE TO ENJOY THE NATURAL SPACE A CITY CAN OFFER.
