Memphis Belle, licensee of the Air Force Military, P.A.N., Italian Army and Military Navy, plays a leading role in this particular market and in 2008 decides to produce an exclusive collection dedicated to our heroes of Decima Flottiglia Mas, becoming officially licensed brand of the Decima Flottiglia Mas. Thanks to the experience gained and the application of the best technology, the company has pursued a level of extreme specialization. The design studio, linked to military operational needs, is characterized by its remarkable quality of innovation; the design of the watches, is characterized by the combination of technical and style elements, a combination that is the acknowledged signature of Memphis Belle.The high quality standards of the watches produced by the genoese company have decreed its growing success, allowing a capillary nationally diffusion and progressively opening up to foreign markets.The company produces super professional underwater diving watches and chronographs total quality, with technical content that perfectly meets the needs of the military professional. The very high level of the models made it possible that our watches are used by many special and flying departments for operational use in important national and international military missions.The choice of materials and the design and production of the individual models are modeled to get the most in terms of functionality, endurance and precision. Cases and bracelets are made of 316l stainless steel with a zero oxidation rate or pure titanium grade 2, metal characterized by a maximum level of durability and pratically total amagnetism; these are the same materials that are used for the construction of the submarine hulls and spacecraft. Waterproof cases is from 10 atm (100 meters) to 120 atm (1200 meters) and the bracelets are equipped with double safety lock and extension for use above the wetsuit. The crowns have a special internal screw system with double o-ring, identifiable from diver embossed head.All our models adopt scratch-resistant sapphire glass with special anti-reflective coating to allow even use in extreme light conditions; the high-visibility dials and hands are equipped with super-luminous non radioactive light that is charged with sunlight and they can be customized with their own departmental or corporate logo. Each Memphis Belle watch is the result of a continuous search and an accurate study of details which is the absolute guarantee of quality.

X° Flottiglia Mas watches history In 1935, the Regia Marina asked Panerai to design a watch for extreme use in water. Its users had to be the divers and the Gamma of Regia Marina, a small unit still under experimentation. In 1936, the first prototype was presented, while a group of Navy officers with Teseo Tesei at the head, beginning the study of some submarine to be used in a possible conflict; this study is now left aside, as the war winds are not around the corner.In 1938 the first supply of a dozen caliber 3646 pieces with California dial, all Rolex supplied, is delivered to the first submarine group in which the assault vehicles are being studied and inside there is the Gamma department. The war is approaching and the submarine are not ready, also because in the biennium 38/40 the project of the assault vehicles has been stopped,but it is outlining the department of the first MAS Flottiglia which composes the secret weapons of the future X°MAS; men’s recruitment is extremely strict, it is focuses on physical excellence and creates a department made up of super-high moral professionals as well as physical, indispensable qualities in view of the assault vehicles and responsibilities reserved to them; the department is in the close dependencies of Admiral Aimone of Savoy-Aosta.Also the divers school at Commander Wolk’s orders will enter the Flottiglia’s design. The conflict begins and the first missions begin, Gibraltar and Alexandria on all.The Panerai 3646 watches are assigned and are on the wrist of the Assault and Gamma operators; those who goes in the mission wore it on the wrist, and the watch became its endowment. Almost all had the California dial, the future scatolino dial was at the studios. Unfortunately the first operations are ruinous and the successes are very few; in March 1941 the department was named X°Flottiglia Mas, under the command of Moccagatta Fregata Captain. The first real success is the sinking of the cruiser York to Suda. On the wave of this exploit, the Malta operation is planned: the whole Flottiglia is engaged, with underwater and assault vehicles; unfortunately it will be an audacious but ruinous operation, in fact many men fell under the fire of the English, and in particular commander Moccagatta and Giobbe and men of the caliber of Teseo Tesei and doctor Falcomatà. After Malta, the reins of the Flottiglia and the underwater department go to C.F. Forza.The assignment to underwater and Gamma operators of watches 3646 (which will now mount the classic Radiomir Panerai dial), continues regularly.After the success of Gibraltar, in December of ‘41 Alexandria of Egypt marks one of the most glorious pages of the Italian Navy of all time: Commander Borghese brings with his submarine Scire ‘3 SLC with 6 operators at the port’s entrance, assigns 3 targets, the 2 largest British warships in the Mediterranean, the Valiant (De La Penne and Bianchi), Queen Elizabeth (Marceglia and Schergat) and an aircraft carrier (Martellotta and Marino), but it is absent, so the two fold up on the Sagona tanker, which in the outbreak also damages the destroyer Jervis. The two battleships will stay in the workforce for years before resuming them because they were severely damaged. On the wrist of Emilio Bianchi and Durand De La Penne there was the Radiomir Panerai 3646 and as his testimony, it is known that it was the first trophy taken by the British after their capture, along with the aro. In another theater operation in Mar Nero where worked a column of surface assault vehicles titled to Commander Moccagatta, at Lucio Visintini was taken his Radiomir Panerai, who was never found; in view of the acts of heroism carried out by T.V. Moccagatta, at his wife X° MAS has assigned another Radiomir 3646 and we know that today the watch is in good hands... The command of Flottiglia in 1943 is in the hands of the Commander Borghese who begins to plan various attack plans from Freetown to New York using the paratrooper swimmers of Commander Buttazzoni while still thinking of Malta. Another heroic page will be marked by Commander Luigi Ferraro, who by expert Gamma, in the summer of ‘43, alone, from the Turkish coasts of Mersina and Alessandretta sank three merchant ships; the fourth was saved casually, thanks to an inspection of English divers. To his wrist there is always a Radiomir Panerai 3646 with a scatolino dial, which the family still owns. An anecdote, linked to the end of the war, which the family told, was when Commander Ferraro was at Valdagno and the partisans seized the Panerai, but after a few days, when his position was cleared, with great surprise, he was returned him intact. These are just some exploit and some anecdotes linked to the X° Mas before 8 September ‘43; no more than 200 men, an elite built with sacrifice and abnegation, men who over the years gave shine at Marina, and with their boldness and Italic cleverness have achieved exceptional results. These Italian Heroes faced with honor to the largest Navy in the world.
Bronze Age is back and is called Predator Heritage 2018 marks the 20th anniversary of Memphis Belle Maison that for this remarkable goal launches the model intended to leave an indelible mark on its presence in the panorama of military professional watches. Our Heritage commemorates the first model of operating watch, named Predator; in this new Limited Edition version, is made of marine bronze CuSn8. It is dedicated to the Decima Flottiglia Mas and has on the dial the mythical skull with the rose in mouth.The “Decima Flottiglia Mas” was born at the beginning of the Second World War as a secret department of Regia Marina for the use of new underwater and surface assault vehicles, which were difficult to develop at the end of the 1930s. Between 1941 and 1943, the few hundred men who were part of it, operated in high-risk missions, achieving, even at hard cost, successes that modified the naval strategic of the Mediterranean. The charm of bronze applied to the unrivaled appeal of military watches, is the new surprising trend in the luxury watch market.
