Final Project

Introduction For my project, I decided to take pictures of a student weightlifting. Going to the gym during the offseason for sports gives you chance to stay in shape, and it’s an opportunity for self-improvement. Many people go to the gym to stay healthy, and in shape. The gym also helps emotionally, a lot of people go to the gym to get rid of stress from work, school, etc‌ The student I photographed has just recently started going to the gym, and is extremely dedicated. He is already starting to see some results, and that is motivation to keep working hard.

Lat Pull Down The student photographed is working out his back. This exercise is called the lat pull down. The student is focusing on his latissimus dorsi, which is located on the upper sides of your back.

Chest Press Machine This exercise is called chest press. This exercise focuses on building your Pectorals. The student in this picture is pushing the handles up using his triceps and chest.

Middle Back Row This exercise shown in the picture is focusing on the middle of his back. As he pulls the bar up towards his chest, he squeezes the middle of his back.

Chest fly Machine In this picture, the student is using the fly machine. This exercise focuses on your inner chest, and also helps define your chest.

Preacher Curls This exercise is called Preacher Curls. This exercise focuses on your inner Biceps. As you can see, the student in the picture is holding the bar close to the middle, pulling it up, and holding the position for one second to really work the biceps.

Pull Up Usually on back days, we start off by doing a few sets of pull ups to warm up the back and get the blood flowing. Pull Ups work your Latissimus Dorsi, and your Biceps.

Barbell Curl This exercise is called the Barbell Curl. We usually start off biceps with this exercise because it focuses on the entire Bicep. The objective of this exercise is to keep your elbows tucked inward and pull the bar up.

Bench Press This exercise is called the Bench Press. The student adds plates to each side, and pushes the bar up, focusing on his chest. This exercise id great for building your Pectorals.

One Arm Row This exercise also works out the Latissimus Dorsi. When the student pulls the handle towards the side of his chest, he focuses on his lat. This workout is commonly used by a lot of people at the gym. It helps with defining your lat.

Tricep Extension If you want to get your arms larger, then working out your Triceps will help the most. This exercise is the Tricep Extension. The student is holding the lower part of the rope, and without moving his elbows, he pulls the rope down until his arms are straight. This exercise works the middle of your Tricep.
