>> Code/Wear The first workshop is emphasising computational and material prototyping as both an analytical methodology and the prime mode of design production and representation. In Alisa's workshop code/wear, we design basing on material and methods of fabrication to create organizational form of this kind of material. We shrink the scale to dimension of human figures, the clothes. Research the relation between human and costume wrap around, inference to the relation between human and architecture.
3 Through the different folding methods, we shape the flat material to twodimensional surface which could fit the human body curve.

<< SWARM_BODY Swarm body system is a sort of self-organization strategy which is basing on swarm system by kokkugia. In this workshop we learn to create some new rule for agents to behave differently. Also, the spring, physcial system is added to it to limit the movement of agents and reshape the organization of whole structure.

The DPL workshop is for voluntarily participant who is interested in learning arduino board development. All the devices which basing on arduino are encouraged to be design. Our team decided to design a robotic furniture as a part of architecture. Therefore, we came up with an idea that we design the light, not the pattern of light,
We think that the organization of tradiational light is lacking of flexibility so the movable light should be developed. Frankly, the various of robots company with people in nowadays. However, in architecture, the installation is not frequently used. So probablely, it will be fun to make it out.

[WATER CELLS] +[Recycling Spaces]
24
A.D. 2153, human beings still cannot solve the environmental issue which includes water pollution and population living problems. As the submarine volcanic eruption, rising of sea levels, less and less land are available for mankind. Thus, human urgently need more space for water storage and purification , and more space for living.
The building is consist by two parts, water cell and bone structure. Each cell has unidirectional filter membrane which could absord and filter water from vessels and store clean water inside it. Vertical bone structures provide the constraint and support for whole water system. The vertical structures also play the role of vessel which transfer water from sea
levels to water cells. Meanwhile, due to the frequent submarine volcanic eruption, a great quantity of sulfide and metal components dissolve in the water so that human cannot use water directly. The unidirectional filter membrane which filtrate impurities and heavy metal elements will
gradually reduce its efficiency because of the accumulation of filter residue. After a long period, the cell will be inactivated and the inactivated membrane will become more thick and less elastic so people could take advantage of these cells for living.

As time passes, the frequent earthquakes would arouse quite a large number of volcanic activities. Seismic frequency statistics presents the tendency in the number of earthquake happening. [ Elementary Analysis ] Magma is a mixture of molten or semi-molten rock, volatiles and solids that is found beneath the surface of the Earth, and is expected to exist on other terrestrial planets. Besides molten rock, magma may also contain suspended crystals and dissolved gas and sometimes also gas bubbles. Magma is capable of intrusion into adjacent rocks, extrusion onto the surface as lava, and explosive ejection as tephra to form pyroclastic rock. CaO 50 % - 60 %
"Natural" cements correspond to certain cements of the pre-Portland era, produced by burning argillaceous limestones at moderate temperatures. The level of clay components in the limestone (around 30–35%) is such that large amounts of belite (the low-early strength, high-late strength mineral in Portland cement) are formed without the formation of excessive amounts of free lime.

Voronoi is a frequently-used logic and pattern in many fields, this is another test how can we play with voronoi pattern. Therefore, I add the logic of swarm into it to see what happend. The voronoi is located according to agents' location and record itself each frame growing upward.
28
The whole structure is basing on swarm and voronoi system. we abstract the node of voronoi and translate in z direction to build the structure. The verticle structure works as the
support and restriction of this building. Due to the logic of voronoi, the space from bottom to the top is wholeness as one column.

Recycling spaces system are specific strategy f o r W a t e r Tr e a t m e n t S y s t e m [ W AT E R CELLS] to resolve the problem of too many inactivated cells and less living spaces. Due to long period filtering, the inactivated cells accumulated a large number of heavy metal elements between the two membranes, which enhance the strength and thickness of the cytoderm. Taking full advantage of the cycle of water cells, we find a good solution to the issue we might face in the future.

Sea water is absorbed by using the bone structure and transfer it into water cells to finish filtering in the order of elevation. Generally, the lower height cells will always be inactivation first. Therefore, after the cells transform to living space, the higher water cells will supply fresh water automatically.

>> Pattern of Force Field The research of force field is an attempt to organise the plan of ground. The point magnets and linear magnets are being used during this test. Basing on the logic of force of magnet, we set the line as magnet which returns force along its direction whose magnitude is according to the distance between the nodes of line and the location where it is. The formula is f = k/sq(d). The test is helping finish the project of semiology in Parti's studio.

than straight hair system. That means the curly has a more superior heat preservation a n d re s i sta n c e t h a n t h a t o f t h e st ra i g h t .
The air flow influence by hair cross section, as we can see, two types of section (circle and ellipse) , three types of windward direction lead to different The survey on animals in Africa and Asia proved this turbulent velocities. The ellipse section has a better opinion that the twirl hair is not only good for heat preservation but also heat dissipation. Thus I came flow resistance than circle one. up an idea that we could take advantage of the hair Due to the ellipse section of hair, it shapes twirl structure to shape the structure which has a similar and crimp to make the system more complex character on heat preservation and dissipation.

>> Reaction–diffusion system Reaction–diffusion systems are mathematical models which explain how the concentration of one or more substances distributed in space changes under the influence of two processes: local chemical reactions in which the substances are transformed into each other, and diffusion which causes the substances to spread out over a surface in space. This description implies that re a c t i o n – d i ff u s i o n syste m s a re n at u ra l l y a p p l i e d i n c h e m i st r y.

URBAN NET. +
The script imitate the action of stretching a elasticated net until it's broken. Then I try to apply the 2D logic into 3D enviroment to manipulate it with urban scale which could generate an interesting form of emergence. The begining, we have a net which is slightly broken, even then, the stretching force gradually increase to enlarge the broken holes until the structure completely ruined. As can be seen from the right. So than we can eveluate the weak point of this complcate structure which has a practical significance rather than mere finding form.

<< Kinect Action Identification System The kinect action identification system is developed for studio project which is about human behavior and semiology. I suppose human behavior can not be forecast but can be analysed which means the connection between architecture and human could be built real-time basing on current technology. GLASS + CODE Generative-Glass is an international ex p e r i m e nta l re s e a rc h p ro g ra m m e designed to investigate the evolving role of glass as a physical material in design, art and architecture, as well as, its potential relationship with new computational/ interactive/ fabrication production processes. Glass, unlike most materials used in contemporary architectural design, has remained relatively ‘inaccessible’ and ‘unmanageable’ due to various factors directly associated with its material behavior, making processes, assembly logics and cost of customization. The ambition of this annual programme i s t o s u c c e s s i v e l y p ro d u c e a b o d y of work, in collaboration with both contemporary glass manufacturers and artisans, demonstrating ways in which the implementation of glass as a highly aesthetical and self-structural material could be approached afresh via generative processes.
