While in college, I spent my summers in Salida and Buena Vista as a river guide and kayak instructor. When it came time to put down roots, I decided on Salida and bought my first house. For the past 20-plus years I’ve been a full-time, top-producing Realtor in Salida and in 2009 became owner of Pinon Real Estate Group. I am a volunteer with Salida Mountain Trails, which creates and supports our local trail systems. Each day I balance adventure with being a full time realtor, business owner and mother of my two incredible girls, Izzy and Maggie. WHAT IS ONE POSITIVE THING THAT HAPPENED TO YOU THIS YEAR?

MORE FREE TIME…TIME WITH FAMILY, TIME TO RECREATE, TIME TO ENJOY SALIDA.

The mountains are calling and I must go! So, that is what my husband and I did over 10 years ago after discovering Salida during a ski trip. Moving from Oklahoma City, we purchased Roxy’s Bottle Shop and jumped feet first into the community. I have served on the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and FIBArk Board of Directors. Before moving to Salida, I spent 10 years as a top-selling Realtor in the Oklahoma City area and love continuing my real estate career with Pinon. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LOCAL BUILDING, ARCHITECTURAL STYLE, OR STRUCTURE?

THE PINON BUILDING! THE HISTORY, THE VAULT DOWNSTAIRS.

It is an honor being a Broker Associate with Pinon. I’ve been at home in Colorado since 1982 and in Salida since 1999 and have worn many hats including educational psychologist, marketing specialist and original Owner/Manager of Pinon Vacation Rentals. I have an eye for design, remodeling, and decorating, and love to share ideas. My life in Salida includes involvement in our community and recreating. I am passionate about local agriculture and caring for the people and natural beauty in our valley — all of which make this a home I never want to leave. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE WAY TO RELAX IN CHAFFEE COUNTY?

WALKING WITH MY DOG AROUND TOWN, BY THE RIVER, IN THE MOUNTAINS.

I am the founding partner and co-owner of Pinon Real Estate Group. Born in Montana and growing up in the small town of Black Forest, Colorado, I moved to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area in my twenties to start a business and family. After twenty years of Texas traffic and heat, I longed to return to Colorado. Salida provided the ideal combination of climate, scenery, recreation, and small town values for my wife and I to raise our four children. I love fly fishing, enjoying outdoor time with my family, and driving vintage Porsche sports cars.

WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE LOCAL ARTISAN?

PAULETTE BRODEUR. I LOVE THE COLORS SHE ADDS TO HER LANDSCAPES.
