In my first act, I established a personal foundation of hard work, strong character, success and determination that I hope to continue throughout my life. My career and life were stable, but I was not satisfied or excited by my work. I attempted to find meaning where it did not exist. Finally I realized it was time to exit stage left and take the risk to pursue my passion and dream. I looked to find myself, but learned quickly that there was not something to find, but something to create. I have learned what it means to be a designer—to take chances, to explore, to listen and play. I am able to draw from my life experiences to influence my work. As a designer, my eyes are now wide open to view the world differently. I have always been a problem solver and now I can apply my skill to help design for social change, create something relevant and make a better world through design. As I embark on this journey, I share with you the beginning of act two.
