Lʻamore in tutte le sue forme.

“Gente andate a cavallo: la vostra esistenza sarà più interessante”. L’invito che Vittorio Feltri rivolge ai lettori nell’intervista che pubblichiamo nelle nostre pagine dedicate agli “Horse Lovers” ci trova ovviamente più che d’accordo. Il mondo del cavallo è un puzzle che sembra non chiudersi mai considerato che allo sport, focus delle nostre pagine, accosta l’arte, la cultura, la storia, la formazione, l’etologia, il costume, le tradizioni, la medicina, la natura, il benessere, la terapia, il tempo libero, il business, l’economia e una grande quantità di altre differenti sfaccettature.

Lo sport nei suoi grandi templi per molti versi è un palcoscenico eccellente di questa realtà e lo storico appuntamento con il concorso ippico internazionale a Roma, nella ineguagliabile cornice di Piazza di Siena, ne è un prezioso esempio. Il parco di Villa Borghese ha curiosamente la pianta di un cuore e la verde ellisse ne è esattamente il centro.

L’evento, che festeggia con il 2023 la sua novantesima edizione nella elitaria formula degli CSIO - quella che arricchisce i programmi di gara con la Coppa delle Nazioni - è un vero e proprio patrimonio per la città che nelle immagini di uno spettacolo sportivo che esalta il fascino del palcoscenico aggiunge un nuovo spot al suo bouquet di grandi bellezze.

La manutenzione del patrimonio verde della piazza, che tutto l’anno è vissuta come uno dei punti di maggiore aggregazione del parco, è da anni curata dagli organizzatori del concorso (Sport e Salute e FISE) che nel tempo hanno portato a termine, sotto l’attenta supervisione delle Soprintendenze, importanti lavori di restauro delle opere architettoniche e monumentali.

Nel cuore di Villa Borghese come nel cuore dei cavalieri: Piazza di Siena è per i mostri sacri del jumping internazionale un appuntamento sempre molto speciale. La storia del suo Gran Premio la battezza vetrina e terreno di conferma per i più grandi cavalieri e cavalli del panorama mondiale di sempre. Novant’anni e non sentirli per una storia senza battute di arresto e soprattutto sempre al passo con i tempi. Buon compleanno CSIO di Roma!

“Go riding: your existence will be more interesting”. We cannot agree more with Vittorio Feltri’s suggestion to readers in the interview we publish in our ‘Horse Lovers’ page. The world of horses is like a never-ending jigsaw puzzle: not only equestrian sports on which we focus, but also a combination of art, culture, history, education, ethology, customs, traditions, medicine, nature, wellbeing, therapy, leisure, business, economics and a host of many other facets. Equestrian sports and their great venues are in many ways an excellent showcase of this world; a precious example is the traditional international jumping competition in Rome, in the incomparable setting of Piazza di Siena. The Villa Borghese park is curiously shaped as a heart and the green elliptical arena is exactly at its centre.

The 2023 event celebrates its 90th edition within the framework of the elite CSIO competitions with their rich program featuring the Nations Cup; it is a true heritage for the city, which capitalises on this sports imagery, enhanced by the charm of an unrivalled scenery, to add a new spot to its bouquet of great beauties.

The green areas of the square, one of the major important meeting point of the park, have been maintained for years now by the organisers of the competition (Sport e Salute and FISE); over time, they have also completed significant restoration works on the architectural and monumental parts of the square.

In the heart of Villa Borghese as in the heart of riders: Piazza di Siena is always a very special occasion for the sacred monsters of international jumping. The story of its Grand Prix glorifies Piazza di Siena as a showcase and a testing ground for the world’s best riders and horses of all times.
