i began by trying to define myself and my strengths, looking back on past work and critique to try and configure a common theme. my love for wider context and linking points to external influences seemed fairly strong, and kept this in mind when considering all design aspects.
deciding upon a graphic interpretation of myself began with experimenting with the visual formation of my name, and whether i wanted to use my whole name, or just my initials. I liked the idea of using “A/W”, as it is a nod to my interest in fashion, reminiscent of the abbreviation for “Autumn/Winter”. For my logo, I have purposely dismissed imagery in favour of clean lines and simple graphics, which i felt was a lot more true to my own personal aesthetic.
for logos five and eight, i created my own font in adobe illustrator using linear structures to create a more shape focused logo, playing on the idea of triangles, however these experiments didn’t particularly please me, and i am much more in favour of using logo three, as i feel that the sqaure shape acts as a visual symbol for my way of working, connecting points together in strong, clear manner, whilst my initials act as a representation of myself thinking more conceptually, ‘outside of the box’ so to speak.

thinking about paper weight and finishes, i have decided to go for 450gsm as i feel it would give the business card weight, both physically and also in terms of professionalism. i have played with the idea of using a dulled metallic silver edging to add another interesting deisgn component, which could show my keen eye for aesthetics and detail
as i have yet to settle on a logo design, i played around with my favourite designs, seeing which looked the most striking on a business card format, and using text, colour, texture and shape that i felt worked in sync together to suggest an idea of ‘controlled collage’. although i was experimenting, it was important to me that i retain aspects of my personal style, as i wanted these business cards to really reflect my tastes accurately.
my personal favourite designs are four and five, as i encapsulate my tastes, but from a stylistic perspective, they work the interesting, perhaps through the mindful use of composition and graphics. the carried on throughout, creating consistency and keeping concept and context around this project, they can be linked back

i have also used a simple interactive element within my cv, by making urls to my other social media networks hyperlinks, so that employers can find out more about me and my tastes with ease. i have also included a link to my cargo collective, in which they can view my previous work. i feel this element is simple to execute but effective in terms of engaging and involving the employer actively.
as i progress and develop, and gain further qualifications and professional experiences, i aim to keep adding to my cv and ensuring it is always as up to date as possible to ensure timeliness. when there is something new, such as a new placement to add, i will always take one off to ensure that my cv doesn’t become too overcrowded and overbearing. this also sticks to the english language theory of the power of three, which makes reading my cv with ease.

it was important to me to keep my cv clear and concise, with only ers are engaged and can quickly read through my cv, this is where t in line with my previous experiments with logos and business cards, i decided to highlight key information, my mobile and email address, by using a different typeface and using central alignment, as i feel contact and connection between employer and employee is essential, and i wanted to make it easy to find my contact details.

if i were to send my cv by post, i would package it in a zip lock bag, as mocked up on the right. i feel this adds a stronger design aesthetic and i want the receiver to enjoy opening up my letter, as i myself feel packaging is key in physical objects. i also like the idea of using it as a protective sleeve. zip lock bags can be purchased in muji and are fairly inexpensive, they also have more of a frosted look, which i would prefer to use.
