Campervan Hire Exciting Venture With Darwin Jimmie (my daughter) and myself we are both wheel trotters! We hard core car freaks and love the pace and race of speed and rods. We were, therefore, looking too forward to our Camper van Darwin exploration! Having done our homework well in advance as to chalking out and planning our itinerary and stocking what we ought to take and accompany we were ready to jump into this adrenaline experience. We love our freedom and respect the flexibility that a motor home offers in terms of stops, what to accept and what to reject in terms of travel escapades. Not adhering to the discipline of fixed time tables as watch dogs as in the case of planned holidays. Exhilarating! Cool, isn't it!... Cool.... Absolutely cool... Cool......

True Britishers that we are, we obviously chose a campervan that was truly colonial viz. European styled and equipped kitchens, spacious living areas, large double beds, well designed and stocked bathrooms, and not to forget our comrades the audio-visual gadgets! Without music we are Zombies of hard core. Cozy drive with automatic transmissions and power steering, modernly designed Campervan did not for a moment to give us an impression that we were on a campervan vehicle. With the men in the house ditching us both on the last moment (my husband Eric and my son-in-law Hugh) we were more than happy as we both find Men Obstacles in the female merry making! We started our trip with traveling to Litchfield Park – Marines on Falls,Batchelor, Buley Hole and Wangi Falls.Driving about 245 kms. south of Darwin we hit Stuart Highway north of Katherine. Just 15 kms off Stuart Highway we hit small town Batchelor which is actually a gateway to Lichfield Park. The town of Batchelor is synonymous with pubs, supermarket 3 holiday parks and the famous Batchelor Institute of Indigenous Tertiary Education. Batchelor airport is also a world famous tourist spot.

Cruising with Katherine Pine Creek and visiting Katherine Gorge and Cutta Cutta Caves made us re-live our sea lives, we spent in our childhood in Blackpool, UK. Jimmie enjoyed her scuba dives and snorkel siesta with frequent dip here and there after lunch and dinner. Lazy Lizard lunch was something very novel and memorable. Cutta Cutta Caves amazed us with the skill of underground tunnels of the Aboriginals.

Just as we were planning to leave Jabiru, we decided to visit Mirrai Lockout and had a very adventurous walk on the hilltop. We were confronted with the most panoramic and scenic view of Kakadu and Arnhem Land across East Alligator river. We had a night spent at Jabiru as our next stop to Jim Jim Falls was a strenuous two hour journey unplanned because of the unsealed road. An absolute stand out of our entire tour was at Arnhem Land which is about 20,000 years old. Extremely memorable and amazing experience. We spent about two days here and took advantage of a local safari operator who is the only one permitted to organize these safaris for Arnhem. We next ventured to Kakadu, hissy Saltie and Yellow Water trip. This was a journey not by motor home. We had camped our camper van at Maui depot on Bombing road - Winnellie. We next headed to Broome to Cape Leveque as guided by one of the couple we met at a restaurant. Broome sunny and sparkling, is a very lively, bustling island resort of a place. It is surrounded by lot of wild life and wilderness. It enthuses that chilled out and siesta attitude of South Pacific. It was a trip worthwhile though expensive as we had to take a long route up the coast from Perth. Broom is positioned although in the Indian Ocean vicinity and has very pristine waters. It is gifted with the Outback which meets the ocean. The red desert dirt meeting

the white sand is a sight nowhere visible in the world. It has great surf break with astounding estuary of fishing, boating with breathtaking walkways. The trip really had us both totally exhausted and drained, traveled and drove like frenzy. We strongly suggest you trip down to Darwin for that exotic, romantic dip-zip coming Valentine. Suggest you drive your Campervan Hire Darwin or the motor home as the fun cannot be substituted otherwise with anything! Bingo! Groove this February with Romance and Fun!
