Why We Love Camper van Sydney and You should Too! Touring round Sydney was actually a Birthday gift for my brother who visited me from Canada. Tom was a kid when left Australia at 5 years old to join my parents who re-located from Australia because of my father's transfer on job promotion. Tom is 19 now and gearing up to be a perfect man. This is his first visit to his home country. Having already visited Queen Victoria Building, Taronga Zoo, Bridge Climb, Hunter Valley and Three Sisters at Katoomba during his stay in Sydney since 31st December strong recommendation from his friend back home in Canada, we decided to experience and enjoy the other part of Sydney with hiring Campervan. We all love wild, bohemian and adventurous travel. We do not believe in planning and take every day as it comes and sometimes we are complimented as crazy, frenzy breed and truly we enjoy all these adjectives describing our unique personas. Willy my husband helped in approaching and organizing this unexplored Sydney.
Bingo! We started our trip as the GOOD, THE BAD AND UGLY! Trio (me, my husband and my brother as children has school to attend and my husband's mother agreed to look after them). Sharp at 7.00 AM the pleasant Camper van staff came to pick us up with a welcome drink and flowers to brighten our day and travel spirit. We were to quest the wilder side of Sydney. Blue Mountains were our first destination. We were mesmerized by the panoramic view of 3 sisters rock formation at the Echo Point with Co-we. We extremely startled at the multiple echoes that returned to us. Jamieson Valley climbs down 1000 some steps we witnessed the World Heritage Plaza. This Plaza is a shopping paradise. Next was the Grand Blue Mountain Canyon 190 m deep shrunken gorges, sculpted into colourful yellow-orange stand stone by the waters of Greaves Creek, Beau champ Falls (uphill). This Australian canyon is five times older than the world-famous Colorado Canyon of America. Bushwalking through the forest, the fun loving fern gullys, passing of tunnels through the rocks, waterfalls and panoramic views of Grose Canyon was one of the favourite relish for Tom.
The most picturesque and spectacular waterfall in the Blue Mountains is the Wentworth Waterfall. The top half of this waterfall can be viewed from Princess Rock. We had to park our van in the neighbouring area, but the great adventure was bushwalking in the nearby area of the waterfall. We had taken a day off from our sightseeing as we all three were terribly exhausted with the tour of Blue mountains and Wentworth Waterfall. The third day was reserved for the visit of Featherdale Wildlife Park. Tom finds National Park and Wild Life very close to his free spirited wild soul. Featherdale Wildlife Park stocks about 300 species of some of the country's best wildlife. It is placed mainly haunted by families with young kids who are thrilled to watch the Koalas and the Kangaroos. We started to Reptile Park near Gosford, Central Coast on Motorhome Hire Sydney. Reptile Park was our favourite destination as it the award winning park hosting some world class and world famous spectacular wildlife shows as also animal interaction activities round the year. Giant Galapagos tortoises, crocodiles, pythons, spiders, exotic reptiles, cuddly koalas or wombat is frequent features of a wildlife exhibit at this park. This is certainly a real treat to the eyes of wildlife lovers! This was the last destination for our Camper van Sydney trip and Tom was just not ready to believe that the tour was ending. Having just three days left for him to return to Toronto we decided to bid him farewell in a more appropriate and memorable way. Hence, after a days break from this trip we had picnic enjoyed at Centennial Park. Observatory Hill, Bushwalk Through Hyde Park, visiting the local markets, Ferry trips of panoramic of Sydney Harbour, Circular Quay, the ride to spectacular Manly, climbing the Top of Sydney Tower, visiting the pristine plethora of beaches viz. Coogee, Palm Beach, Bronte, Manly, Bondi and Freshwater Beach were a great siesta. Lane Cover River Tourist Park, BIG4 Sydney Lakeside Holiday Park, Sydney Hills Holiday Park, Nepean River Holiday Village, Sydney Gateway Holiday Park, Sydney Tourist Park, Wallamba River Holiday Park, Avon Caravan Park are some of the camping places we used for this trip.. Sydney still remains unexplored and a mystery to be uncovered till you dig to binge into your travel bug to go wild and explosive..............till then Happy Holidaying.
