HAMMER & PUNCH
HAMMER & PUNCH
The hammer and punch are the tools you can use to make holes in your cardboard. Put the metal end of the punch against the cardboard and use the hammer to make the hole! Just be careful to not use them on anything except cardboard!
GROMIT
GROMIT
Gromits are super useful! They can be used to attach two pieces of cardboard together. Just punch a hole through both pieces, then push the gromit into the hole!
CLAMP
CLAMP
Clamps are also used to put two pieces of cardboard together, but they only attach at the sides. Clamps can also be used to put the round end into the gromits and make a connection!
ELBOW
ELBOW
Elbows are cool because they make angles hold their position. An elbow can be inserted into a gromit. If you have an elbow to hold your pieces, they won’t come apart by themselves.
Need:
Using this method, you can bend cardboard into any shape you want! You can make boxes with right angles, or any kind of angle you want, the possibilities are infinite!
Use the ruler to make sure the bend stays on the line.
ANGLES
ANGLES
Use a ruler to draw the line you want to bend.
Need:
Slots are useful for making all kinds of things. They can be used for making support inside of something BIG or for when you need things to intersect.
Make sure you do this on two different pieces!
Cut out a slot where you drew the line, but only halfway down!
Fit the two pieces together, and it looks like this
SLOTS
SLOTS
Use a ruler to draw the line for the slot.
Use a ruler to draw the lines for the tab.
Cut out a tab on one piece and a slot on the other.
The pieces should look something like this.
Fit the pieces together like this.
Tabs are useful for connecting pieces together that don’t need to hold anything up. They can be used for covering up holes or just generally attaching two pieces together.

Put a clamp on the nose of the plane to hold it together.
LAVA PUNCH
First, you’ll want to make your ammo, which are lava rocks! Crumple up newspaper to make these. Next you want to make stepping stones. These can be made out of cardboard and can be any shape you want! I love this game!
For beginners, there can be more stepping stones and they can be bigger. For experts, make the steps smaller and have fewer of them. The shapes to the right are examples of stepping stones!
The rules are simple. Each player starts at opposite ends of the playing arena with 3 lava rocksz. The floor is lava, so don’t touch it! If you touch the lava, it counts as 1 hit. Your mission is to hit your opponent 3 times with lava rocks before you get hit. The game can be played 1 on 1 or with teams.
LAVA PUNCH
Before this game can be played, you have to make a few things!
