PREFACE "Symbiosis"
When the era of self-driving cars comes, the composition and operation mode of the city will definitely change. Change is bound to come quickly and overwhelmingly. How to adapt and face, and to create a stable and close to the user's spatial experience in the anxiety and discomfort brought about by rapid change is what designers must think about today.

In addition to the visible hardware changes, a slower but not negligible change is the pattern of established activities whether festivals or daily events, which is what I want to explore in terms of how they will happen in the future, and even whether they will persist.

SITE ANALYSIS Timelines This section is neighboring the historic Narcissus Palace Market and Wing Lok Market on the east side, and the popular tourist attraction Shen Nong St. on the west side, making this section quite active almost 24 hours a day. In particular, the base is now like a clock, with the east side active in the morning and the west side at night, making it quite clear to distinguish. At the same time, the activities of the people are also very time-sensitive: the middle-aged and local communities are the main ones during the day, while the young people and tourists are the main ones at night.
Linearity The site has strong linearity because it contains driveway space, and due to past policies, the roadway was widened to 40 meters, and the existing long basement space under Hai An Rd. is currently half used as a parking lot while the other half is abandoned and unused. The above conditions allow the site to have plenty of unused narrow space in both vertical and horizontal directions
Density & Boundary
The site of the project is located in Hai-an Rd. in Tainan City. Throughout the bustling Central and Western District of Tainan City, which had experienced a decade of decline due to policy mistakes, it has become a gathering place for people in Tainan City again in recent years due to related art projects and the completion of works by MVRDV. Located at the junction of the old city and the emerging development area of Anping, the "sense of boundary" has also become an important characteristic of the site.

PREFACE MAIN IDEA “Grab all the elements from this city and weave my building into the city.” BROMPTON + HOSPITALITY While a hotel serves as a brief stay for tourists, it is also a stopover between different journeys. Therefore, convenient transportation that connects each trip becomes a crucial feature. Brompton Bikes emphasizes such convenience and accessibility, allowing customers to travel freely and independently in the city.

STRATEGY STREET SCALE The base is narrow from north to south. However, in terms of urban texture, I discovered that many of Tainan's alleys sit on the east and west sides. In response, I added various events on the building to break the norms of Tainan’s alley orientations and make these alleys more accessible to people. CITY SCALE The north-south traffic flow of the base serves as a passage for the population to commute in and out of the city, connecting the Tainan Railway Station at the North and the sightseeing area of West Central District and An-Ping District at the south. Since people often pass by in a hurry without stopping, the cityscape composed of elevation is the first impression of tourists to the city.

PREFACE
Let’s suppose that every office worker can finish their work just with their laptop, which means people can work wherever they want. Under these circumstances, I wonder what kind of working space would be sustained? From my perspective, a building as working space should be a place that part of it can share with residents in the community. Besides, functions of the building should include the needs of workers, especially the needs of caring children and the elderly. I believe that workers would have more energy and patience with work if the design of a working space includes the needs of their family

The west of the site is a park between the site and Tainan Canal, which, in the future, is designed by MVRDV. The east of the site is the Central-West District, which is always bustling with noise and excitement, since there are lots of historic sites and tourist attractions. Personally, I won’t go there alone since there is a red-light district over there before.

SECTION B-B'
As for my building strategy, I set my building orthogonal in order to answer the shape of the site, keeping the exterior completed and avoid making the space set back too much. Answering the axis string by waterfront piazza in the future and Central-West District, I penetrate the low-rise part, creating a 14 meters high inner plaza for passengers.

Type:Spiritual Space Program:Open-air Theater/Rehearsal field Duration:2019/5-2019/6, 8 Weeks Site :Hutoupi (虎頭埤), Tainan, Taiwan Area:60m x 80m, 4800 ㎡ Criteria:50% Water+50% Land
As for “spiritual space,” I defined it as a place for ”conversation,” which means having a conversation not only with others but also with ourselves. The ”conversation” here refers to not only daily chatting. Interacting with others through body language or performance is also an important way to connect with others and ourselves. Besides, this kind of conversation always mirrors the true thought in our mind. It is my belief that staying open-minded and sincere to others and ourselves is the most essential way to win peace and happiness, which is the main purpose for lots of spiritual spaces. Following the previous concept, I used a rehearsal space for multiple performances as my design topic. I used lots of materials which were able to mirror other things and physically answer the keywords I mentioned above.

The site locates in Hu-Tou Pei (Pei: small lake) Scenic Area, which is a calm place far from the noisy downtown. The accurate site boundary includes half of land and half of water. Besides, height difference is another task to deal with.

PREFACE
When it came to my first meet of this site, I remembered overwhelming feelings of unsafe, unnoticed and unstoppable flowing. After several times of site visits, I realized that it was feasible to transform such a messy city corner into a friendly open space for recreation and learning, according to its location and potential. After intervening this place with design thinking, I expected to see a attractive space and reach the goal of making a space with lucid interspaces and interesting transparency, but not a grey space lying in the city.

As for architecture, I took oblique walls as an antioutdoor exhibition space for art club. Secondly, I created several horizontal routes in this vertical, banding site axis, which were used to link blocks and streets under the land bridge. Meanwhile, I attempted to create a sense of rhythm in this space.

LIVING BY THE PARK / Symbiosis / Migration / Intergenerational Interaction Partner:許安妤 Type:Hybrid Architecture Program:Collective Housing+Un-volumetric Space+Public Facilities Duration:2020/4-2020/6, 9 Weeks Site :Gongyuan Rd., North Dist.,Tainan Area:approx. 15,526㎡
SITE ANALYSIS
The site is located at the border of the Central and Western District and the Northern District. From the observation of the base, we also found that the it is located right in the middle of the commercial and residential area, surrounded by many schools and educational sites. The northeast corner of the base faces Tainan Park, which is one of the large green areas in Tainan City. In addition, the road inside the base is an important historical road designated by Tainan City, with tourists sometimes wandering through it. The above makes the base a link to the city, both in its present location and in its past historical positioning.
(聚落的100則啟示,原廣司,1987) "Combination" Combine the contradictory elements: geometric and indeterminate, single definition and multiple defined places, light and dark, solemn and everyday places, ancient and new. And then blend those progressive changes to give the whole a balanced order. (From 100 Teachings from the Settlements in the World, Hara Hiroshi, 1987)

OVERALL STRATEGY
We try to integrate the elements of theater and exhibition into all corners of the district: the experience of walking on the historical path, the spatial experience of the exhibition space, and the distance between the residential units. We pay special attention to the operation of the historic street area, hoping to create it as a point of response to the history and future of the city.

UNIT PLAN Large units have more public space, and the clienteles are more intimate groups, such as small families and close friends, and most of the capacity outside the unit leads directly to specific functional space, with less buffering.
Medium-sized units leave more space for friends and relatives who do not know each other well but like to get in touch with each other.
SECTION B-B'
25
Small units only retain the most basic living functions, and the rest of the space is put back into public activities and buffer space, for short-term renters with high mobility, such as those who only need to rent for one semester (4 months).

REDEFINE THE ICONIC - Taipei 101 / Iconic / Landmark / Sustainable Development
Partners:劉恩霈、黃琮祐、戴懷安、鄭馭、曾邑禾 Type:Competition Duration:2021/1-2021/2, 6 Weeks Site :Xinyi District, Taipei, Taiwan
Administration Public Facilities
In the Past 101 was a symbol of technological and engineering progress 20 years ago, and it also represents that economic and social development has reached a certain level. However, most of the space has belonged to a small number of upper-class commercial and financial circles, with few reasons for the general public to stop in.
Shopping Malls
To the Future We believe that in 2021, landmarks should not only be a manifestation of technological progress, but also respond to local culture and open up space for the general public to live in.Therefore, we want to change the existing mechanism and increase the utilization of the general public, especially when Taiwan officially enters the era of negative population growth in 2020. These aging populations have undoubtedly contributed to the development of society in those years, and how to make it possible for them to move around the space is also one of the main points we want to try.

SITE PLAN
In response to the aforementioned that a landmark should represent regional culture, we place a footbridge system to connect the both sides of Xinyi Road, Xinyi business district, and the living space of Wuxing Street. The concept of footbridge is derived from the existing footbridges of those department stores, as another semi-outdoor pedestrian circulation in response to our climate and the epidemic. Also, we create some nodes, forming as a small pop-up activity space, like exhibitions, markets, and performances. Furthermore, there is a doubt of pedestrian's safety because of the traffic on the ground level. Thus, we place these activities separately, which was limited in some existing plaza, in these nodes. After dispersing the flow of people, we limit cars’ entry and only keep public transportation and bicycles to create more green space and pedestrian space. 28

People’s life in the 22nd century is built on the cloud: distance-free as it appears, far from one another it actually is. With the stable developing of strong logistics system and online study sharing platform, daily necessities no longer need to be obtained, and remote work also allows people to stay at home. Locations, landscapes, buildings, and architectures no longer matter. Living in urban areas is like living in test tubes, having no contact with the environment of laboratory, or even in a situation of complete solitude. One’s capability of interacting with others face-to-face gradually weakens. What sort of force would push humans to step out of their doors in the future? We believe that Introducing cities through landscape games would make people gradually step out of the virtual world of their own. It also grants locations in the real world meanings again, with chances of people interacting with each other in person.

"...while the beautifully grassy ground was covered with its rose petals. He went further to explore, ..." Our work was based on the ancient Chinese story, the Peach Blossom Spring . During the workshop, we tried to present this story with 5 clips using different techniques. The first and fifth clips are close-ups, using metaphor to tell the transformation of space or environment, and the second segment uses keyboard rhythm and rotation to present the beginning of change. The third section shoots the main character rowing a boat and uses the character to express the theme. The fourth section is shot with a model, allowing the relationship between the protagonist, the waterway, and the forest to be presented in a giant view.
