Autobiography Alice is an artist based in San francisco and grow up in Taiwan in Nov 28, 1993. She loves drawing since she was a child when she first received cray ons from her mom. She finished her BFA of Foreign Languages and Literature in National Chung Cheng University in Taiwan. During her senior year, she was encouraged by her teacher to join the picture book competition and this motivcated her to pursue the career in art industry. Even though she starts diving into art later than many artist, but she has strong passion and endurance of learning and experiment. She is now studying visual developement for the persue of her career in animation and game.

Thesis Project Summary PROPOSAL Genre: Horror Film Length: 25 minutes 3D animation Setting: Taiwan, Modern World
STORY SUMMARY Meng-Hua is a High School student in Taiwan in Modern World. She addicts to cellphone like other youth. One day, the technological monster invaded the city and Meng-Hua was attacked and almost caught by the monster to be eaten. Suddenly, the God Guan Gong saved Meng-Hua and escaped from the monster. After they arrived Guan Gong’s temple, Meng-Hua was told by the God Guan Gong that she used to be a Goddess but she forgot that she was punished to stay in the human world. If she wanted to go back to the heaven, she needed to prove herself as a good goddess. Meng-Hua regarded this as a joke and left Guan Gong’s temple and decided went home with her friend. On her way home, Meng-Hua’s friend was caught and eaten by the monster. Meng-Hua ran back to Guan Gong’s temple and asked Guan Gong for help. Guan Gong hid his identity as Meng-Hua’s ather and taught Meng-Hua martial arts and training. After three months of training, Guan Gong led Meng-Hua to defeat the monster. Even though they had a hard fight but Meng-Hua was hit by the monster and badly hurt. Guan Gong prevented Meng-Hua to be caught by the monster but he was caught and hurt by the monster. In the end, Guan Gong sacrificed himself to use his last strength to defeat the monster. Meng-Hua was really sad. At the same time, God of heaven made Meng-Hua a new Goddess and served human in the temple Guan Gong used to stay.
THEMATIC STATEMENT Gods and Goddesses shouldn’t be forgotten even though daily lives become more and more technological, convenient, and uncommunicative.

Meng-Hua Meng-Hua is a goddess in heaven but was punished to go to the human world as a 16-year-old high school student. In the human world, she forgets that she is a goddess. She has strong spirit with adventurous, brave,and kind personality.

Guan Gong is a god in heaven at the same time is Meng-Hua’s father. He comes to the human world to save Meng-Hua from the monster and teaches her how to become a good goddess.

Yu-Huang is the boss of Gods in heaven. He sent Meng-Hua to the human world as punishment and in the end of story he let Meng-Hua to run the temple of her father, Guan Gong as a goddess.

Technology (Creature) Technology is a Robot that no one knows where it is from. Itbecomes stronger when humans rely on technology more and more.In the story, it crashes the city and kills A-Zhi. In the end, it is killed by Guan Gong and Meng-Hua together.

Dragon Island Based on Taiwan, which is a beautiful island, I design this dragon-like island . This is a city with both old temple area and modern buildings.
City elements The architetures in the city are based on Chinese temple but with modern features due to the time period.
Menghua’s home Sheet metal houses in Taiwan 1. It frequently rains in Taiwan. With a metal roof, peoplecan still dry clothes during the rainy season. 2. When it comes to summer, a metal roof will effectively block the sun and prevent the temperature from rising. 3. The low cost and light quality won’t add a heavy loading on people nor the rooftop.

Incense Ashes Copper
Altar Chinese Altar are usually used as a table for placing offerings for gods, goddess, and ancesters. Typical material offerings involve simple objects such as a lit candle or oil lamp, burning incense,flowers, food, fruit, water or drinks.
Censer A censer, incense burner, perfume burner or pastille burner is a vessel made for burning incense or perfume in some solid form. These vessels vary greatly in size, form, and material of construction, and have been in use since ancient times in many cultures, in both secular and religious contexts.
Street Light Dragon symbolizes good luck in asian countries. Street lights are design with dragon to show and bring good luck for the city.
Mailbox Green and red mailboxs are used as official color in Taiwan. Green is used for domestic mails.
God’s Chair This is the chair for Yu-Huang, boss of gods. He usually sits on the chair while judging the gods and goddesses in heaven. The chair is made of real gold to show the noble status of Yu- Huang.
God’s table This is the the same set of furniture for Yu-Huang, boss of gods. As same as the chair, the table is made of real gold to show the noble status of Yu- Huang. Both table and chair has the classic Chinese patterns.

Meng-Hua’s friend was grabbed and eaten by the monster.
Meng-Hua was sad and went back to ask Guan Gong for help.
Meng-Hua accepted the training and became stronger.
Guna Gong gave Meng-Hua the spear and said she is ready.
Guan Gong and Meng-Hua attacked the monster.

Yu-Huang named Meng-Hua to take over Guan Gong’s job.
Meng-Hua carried on the unfinished lifework of her father to protect the city.
