VILA EDUCATIONAL FACILITY Archicad | Individual design on a university level - 2nd semester. It follows the guidelines of the Vila system for schools in Brazil. The system proposes a school with plenty of contact with nature in a modern and comfortable design. It has a focus on art, music, and sports education, and it was designed to take advantage of the local climate, materials, and construction techniques. The facility offers nursery capacities as well as elementary and middle school education.

LOW INCOME HOUSING Archicad | Individual design on a university level - 4th semester. It proposes a condominium for low-income residents. The complex offers four options of floorplans: one, two and three bedroom apartments and also an accessible three bedroom on every ground floor. The condo was planned to offer the maximum structure for community activities with playground, small squares, sports court, game room, gym, etc. It also proposes some income opportunities with commercial spaces on the ground floor of the two buildings connected to the streets. The project meets all the legal requirements for safety and minimum spaces as well as all the necessary service facilities.

LUDLOW LIBRARY Rhinoceros | The design of the library on Ludlow was based on a series of studies of its site, sunlight, the community around it, and a good use of space. The three main ideas behind its design are the division of space by raised platforms, the interior program shaping the exterior, and the wrapping promenade, which guides the crack around the building. The materials were carefully chosen in order to emphasize the clean character of the building, in a sense of a lack of ornament

ROW HOUSE Revit | This project was a quick study of the row house style in preparation for a following multifamily housing project. We were given client profiles and based on my client’s desire for connectivity and space to grow food, entertainment spaces were carefully designed along with natural light and a food garden. The lightwells became the center of the design with floating floors and are of easy circulation

NDATION

STEADY BLOCK 12” x 12” x 12” hardwood construction. Small studies with line, plane and volume models led to one single composition. Individual concepts were assigned - subtraction and hierarchy. The final construction was a combination of both + use of line, plane and volume, all balancing on a 4-inch-square area. Graphics study made out of gouache

HIERARCHICAL

CORNER CAST 6”x6”x6” plaster composition. After several analysis of the balance block a single moment of the model was chosen in order to express the whole. A 6-inch cube enclosed that moment and the negative part of that new construction was extracted by filling it with plaster. The final composition engaged complementing angles and intentional connections

RIBBON SECTIONS 8”x8”x8” bass wood model. Buildings were assigned to be analyzed and documented as a group. Emphasis was given to threshold, promenade, and pause areas. Section cuts we created and abstract interpretations of them were made individually. The final construction was created by wrapping these sections with an invisible ribbon translated to planes of bass wood.

UNIT EXPANSION Group Project Deriving from a given drawing, individual units were created with the goal of being mass-produced and then create a wall of units. After a series of material explorations and construction studies the final unit was made of plywood. The unit has a bolt connecting two similar pieces allowing rotation, making possible several iterations of wall assemblies

PERSPECTIVE SERIES While analyzing the site for a library project, perspective studies were developed and brought to photoshop to “populate the space however we wanted, then I chose to print on watercolor paper and color the focus points of the each perspective
