About the Arts Foundation
WHAT WE DO
The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod (AFCC) began in 1987 as a small nonprofit with a lofty, but attainable vision: create a thriving arts and cultural scene on Cape Cod that fuels innovation and economic growth and strengthens our community. We do this through our mission to support, promote and celebrate the arts and culture of Cape Cod to sustain a vibrant, diverse and strong arts community.
WHO WE SERVE
Our focus is on individual artists, cultural centers, fine and performing arts groups and businesses, art educators, and cultural and historical establishments, such as museums and historical societies. If you have encountered any of these on Cape Cod, there’s a good chance the AFCC has supported them in a meaningful way over the past three decades.
OUR GOALS
The AFCC has three specific goals: To fund artistic and cultural initiatives that reflect the vitality, diversity, and history of the arts on Cape Cod; To improve and increase the Cape’s reputation for arts and culture by building a strong arts community network that benefits from sharing information and resources and creates a unified presence in the marketplace; and To advocate at the local, state and national levels for more awareness on the impact the Cape’s creative economy has on our region and beyond.
For almost 30 years, the AFCC has administered a grant program through which we have awarded over $1.5 million to individual artists, art organizations, educational institutions and art and cultural projects that have had a direct, positive impact on our community.

FUTURE INITIATIVES
As we approach our 30th anniversary, we are stepping up our fundraising activities by implementing an aggressive development plan that includes increased yearly giving, major gifts and grants to enable us to increase our financial contributions to the local arts community.
Part of our mission has been focused on funding artistic and cultural initiatives that reflect the vitality, diversity and history of the arts on Cape Cod. Going forward, we not only want to continue that focus, we want to expand our reach so we can distribute larger grants that have a bigger impact on this place we call home.
MEMBERSHIP AND COMMUNITY
The AFCC’s artist membership is specifically designed to support individual artists, cultural centers, fine performing art groups and businesses, and cultural and historical establishments, such as museums and historical societies, by giving them the support, publicity and networking capabilities they need to thrive here.
Our members benefit from ArtsCapeCod.org, a comprehensive regional industry website built to promote their artistic and cultural activities.
