an opportunity to focus on the cohabitation of private and public components within an urban block as a strategy to revitalize the neighborhood. the design is based upon a primary circulation core in the center, off of which program elements spread out. these program spaces are then shifted to create dynamic outdoor spaces.

design a small structure scaled to the body of a single person. program is a place for sitting, and for sleeping. interstate-10 freeway above acts as an armature to support the structure. collective organizational scheme for ten groups of ten pods, 100 total. the assembly method establishes community within the site. metal-grated slits cut into the overpass to allow access for daylight and ventilation.
