ROLLING LANDSCAPES THE WINDY CITY ROLLER DERBY STADIUM
EASTERN ENTRANCE
This roller derby stadium connects the viewers and the players to the sport through the architecture by creating an interior landscape that encourages the interaction of the derby girls and their fans. The interior landscape is carved out by the two rinks, the seating surrounding the rinks, and the subtle grade changes that differentiate between rink spaces, viewing, and circulation spaces. While providing the necessary programmatic elements for the sport, the stadium also can be used to facilitate community events through its additional program, such as classroom and conference room spaces, as well as a restaurant style kitchen.
LONGITUDINAL SECTION
BANKED TRACK
FLAT TRACK
My goal in this project was to create an inviting roller derby experience for the players and the visitors. The objective was to meet the clients’ spatial needs for both practice and roller derby bouts, while also providing space for events with the community.

LONGITUDINAL SECTION The primary strategy is to clearly understand the end user. On collecting data on Red Hook we realized that most of the people here either live by them selves or are living with another person, known or unknown. Basic amenities like theatres, pharmacies and bars are absent. Interaction between people is minimum resulting in a loss of a sense of community. Our proposal is to bring people together in a large open plaza and other secondary open spaces allowing them to meet, interact, and come together as a community.
HIGH PERFORMANCE HIGH RISE BRINGING ICE SPORTS TO THE URBAN ENVIRONMENT
The object was to design a Team USA Ice Sports Training Facilities with a large program on a small site in urban Detroit. The theme of circulation paths giving multiple viewpoints was carried through from project two, along with the same Team USA Ice Sports Training Facility program. The difficulty was fitting the ice rinks onto the small site without changing the size of the rink.
