We had the pleasure of interviewing an amazing young lady, Charlie to talk all about her life, her goals, and she shows us exactly why she's a perfect Alive Ambassador. Read on to learn all about Charlie! How old are you? 9 years old Favourite Summer Activity? Paddle boarding, its fun being outside on the water and we get to go to different lakes
Favourite Winter Activity? Hockey. Last year I played as an underage on the Airdrie Atom Female Team, this year I hope to make the same team. What do you do for fun? Swim, rollerblade, jump on the trampoline, play with friends, draw, play with my new puppy and pretty much anything outside. What are you most proud of? Raising money for the Canadian Cancer Society. I was the top fundraiser for Relay for Life Airdrie in 2016. I also raised $1000 having a candy stand at a market in Calgary. Between the two I raised over $3000 and that felt really good.

FEMALE FOOTPRINT
Jaime Sawchuk My name is Jaime Sawchuk and along with my husband Greg, we decided to start a foundation to honour our son Vaughn. He was born with a rare heart defect called Ebstein’s Anomaly. A displacement of the tricuspid valve, within the left ventricle. Listing Vaughn for heart transplant was in his and our best interest. Our little warrior fought hard through seven heart surgeries, but complications from all the extensive procedures, left us having to make the heart breaking decision, of watching our son as he became an angel. That moment changed me and my family in all aspects of our life. The pain of losing him shattered my soul and to this day still does. I miss him beyond my being. While in the care of the Stollery Children’s Hospital, we learned immediately what life of living with a heart warrior is about. An incredible facility with the most magical and talented medical personal you want around at a time when your whole world is upside down. The passing of Vaughn left an immeasurable void in our life and us searching for a way to grieve while still moving forward as a family. This is why we decided to give back and try to help ease any of the burdens of other families within the Stollery, specifically the PCICU, where Vaughn was. We are also fortunate to be a part of Little Heart Hero’s Camp. A medically supervised camp encouraging children with heart malformations to come together, experience nature and just be kids outside the hospital walls.

Our events have allowed us to donate over 10 Thousand dollars and we will continue our efforts while building a legacy for Vaughn. We are so grateful for all the support we have received and continue to be inspired by new friends made on this journey.Â
By spreading the act of kindness together we can turn ripples into waves. From the Heart, for the Heart www.vaughnsawchukfoundation.com www.littleheartheroes.ca

MOM LIFE
Michelle Carre As a Speaker and an Accountability Coach the core of my message is that life is about ratio not about balance. It’s about getting the right amount of the right things. Don’t confuse quality with quantity. I think we get stuck thinking that time with our kids means hours on end of kid’s games. The truth is, it’s not about how much time you spend with your kids, it’s about what you do in the time you are with them. If you are in the car with your kids instead of zoning out to the radio or letting them watch a movie, turn it all off and talk. That 10 minute car ride to soccer practice can easily become amazing quality time with your child. To really create a great conversation, ask them what or why questions.
What was the most fun thing you did today? Why was that so fun? What was something difficult that happened today? What made it hard for you? What are looking forward to tomorrow? Why are you excited about that?

In order to be present in these moments, it’s important to make sure you recharge your battery! Think of yourself like a cell phone. On your phone you have a bunch of apps that are open and all of them are using up the battery. As you go through your day you are giving your attention and energy to many different people and tasks, from work, to kids, to your health and your relationships. As time goes on, your battery is going to start to drain so you need to recharge, just like you would plug in your phone. A dying cell phone is no good! How are you going to post on Instagram if you’re running out of juice? If you want to show up in this world as the best version of yourself, you have to be charged. My main goal as a Mum is to teach my kids how to be good humans. One of the ways to do that is to demonstrate it and that’s why taking care of myself is so important. When I have full battery I know I can do anything and I can show them that. When we take time to talk to our kids it creates an amazing opportunity to connect and teach them but also the chance to learn from them. I’d love to connect and help you live the life you envision!

Nutrition is the foundation to having that overall lifestyle change. If we cannot get a handle on fueling our body properly and efficiently, then finding that balance in our life becomes a bigger struggle. I have a passion for creating, educating and teaching women how to fuel their bodies. Through understanding nutrition and what their specific bodies are, they can change their mindset and their bodies from the inside out. We are often told how to exercise, what the best ways to stay fit are, how to eat and what to eat. What we aren’t told is how to educate ourselves on the why’s behind our nutritional needs. We are under educated and misguided when it comes to nutrition. We are told to do everything but one thing, which is, listen to our intuition and ask questions. When I realized, I had a purpose and a passion to teach women how to fuel themselves, I knew I had to release it to the world. I always preach that there are no magic pills, no special potion, no magic wand, and no diet that can work the way nutrition does for our bodies. I created a bullet proof plan designed to see successes, at the end of a three month program. The program is designed to make education and teaching a top priority.

A generic plan found online is just that generic, it is not customized to what you need, what you want, or what you like. If you are an active female, who is training for a ½ marathon, and cross training you will need a completely different nutrition program than someone who is just getting back into fitness. Calories set for the day and how you set up your day with food all play a part in how you fuel your body properly. I love customizing plans for women, when a plan is set into place, and one feels energized and powerful after the first week, this is my passion, my fire, my purpose and my desire.
We are over educated with the ideas of proper nutrition that it’s important to understand what we need as individual. When asked, how do I start proper nutrition or how do you eat healthy, I tell them these three things.
1. Trust yourself 2. Eliminate / decrease the amount of processed foods and refined sugar in your lifestyle 3. Eat intuitively

WOMEN IN BUSINESS
The power of vulnerability in business is something that took me two years to understand as a simple concept.
Brittni Colleen
It wasn’t until 6 months into launching my 4th business that I understood this. It was a journey of up’s, downs, failures, wins, mistakes and successes of my entrepreneurial journey that finally opened my eyes to this. So, what exactly is "this"? This is realizing the power of being vulnerability in business can have the ability to attract abundance in all aspects of your life and business. Simple concept right? It really is. But, in today’s online entrepreneurial space we are surrounded by this hustle mentality, that work MUST be hard in order to create success. To get clients and make money this must happen. In reality, this is something we have created. We utilize these challenges and hard work as leverage to draw people in because this is what we believe we are “supposed to do”, there is no other way. How is that, in anyway freeing? I know for myself, for my first 3 years in business, I was constantly exhausted, burned out, frustrated and believed I just had to keep working harder. I didn’t know there was another way. It took me along time to open my eyes to a simple, powerful shift that forever changed my life and business. "You CAN create, grow and build a business with EASE!" I will say this again "YOU CAN create, grow and build a business with EASE!" Once you are able to embrace your vulnerabilities and serve your online community in a means to impact, motivate, inspire or educate others. You are well on your way to building a like-minded community that trusts you and starts to see you as the expert within your niche.

The online world is starting to shift DRASTICALLY from a place driven by external means such as money that leaves you burned out, drained and frustrated to creating purpose-driven busy-nesses that are actually FREEING!! Building a limitless, fulfilling business is SO much more than a pretty website, branding and static images. You need to SPICE up your business, make it meaningful, inspiring and create a SPLASH in the online world. You will make an even GREATER impact after you step out from behind the computer, get vulnerable, visible and simply be YOU, the REAL YOU! I want to share with you how to receive true abundance in all aspects of your life, starting with these 5 points 1) MAGNETIZE your DREAM clients that you want to work with. 2) The money you want to attract into your life without leading with “salesy” tactics 3) Creating a business from a place of EASE! You are simply just showing up as YOU, sharing your message and become the EXPERT in your niche. 4) Build a badass community of your dream clients where you simply creating an open conversation to connect on a deeper level, building trust and relatability. 5) On your way to creating worldwide impact in a meaningful, connective way. Here are a few powerful question to start unleashing your authentic voice and start sharing your authentic message with confidence: 1) If you had to pick 3 powerful words that describe your authentic voice and how you desire to project your message to the world what would they be? 2) If you were to project your message through those 3 powerful word every time what would that do for your BUSINESS? 3) If you were to project your message through those 3 powerful word every time what would that do for your CONTENT? 4) What sort of people will be drawn to you? How does that make you feel? 5) What are some areas in your message in relation to finding your authentic voice are you ready to change? And, what action steps are you going to take to being your most raw, real, badass self that is go-ing to start attracting the clients and income you have been aching for? There are many ways you can start to gain confidence, to express your vulnerabilities. But, the most important step before anything is to TRUST what you have to say is important! It will bring value and WILL impact lives. From there you are able to create a business with EASE through vulnerability and online visibility.

WELLNESS REAL-TALK
Kelsey Davidson Slip back into September with these 5 steps! I feel since I became a Mom, September is the new January 1st. * New Resolutions/Goals. * New Schedules. * New Intentions. Now, I know there are only a few more days left of summer and you want them to last as long as a possible but I wanted to touch base on September and about routine. As you know, life gets busy and if you're anything like me, I hate to be blind sided or in an overwhelm state of mind. I like to be proactive and prepared. With September sneaking up I wanted to give you a couple friendly tips on slipping back into routine, rather than starting September like ripping a band aid off. 1. Get your calendar ready - By now or within the week you will be receiving your children's extra curricular activities schedules. START marking in the calendar. I have seen families that colour code for each kid or for each sport. Figure out what works best for your family and household and ROCK THAT!

Alive Times
2. Start meal prepping! Do a cook off one day and prep 8 crock pot or easy 20 min meals for those busy nights. A great way to do this is with a friend, double batch everything and have fun with it! 3. Create your winter/spring fitness and health goals. From there start looking at how and when you will train for this. Schedule it in!
4. Do a spring clean at the end of August! Prep the winter clothes, prep the school back packs, donate kids clothes that don't fit after that summer growth spurt, check shoes, boots and all. Spring cleaning in August leads to less frustration. Especially in Canada when you get that first snow fall and 10 mins before you need to leave your house for school, you realize your sons winter boots and winter jacket don't fit! (speaking from experience- it sucks!) 5. Communicate the routine, the meals, and what is expected of each member of the family and support system. Have a strong line of communication and support system in line, for those just in case situations.
In Canada we are blessed with a short stint of warm weather and as much as I try to fight the winter coming, it's coming. As much as others fight routine and schedules, it's coming! If you are able to take these steps and start being proactive in the last few weeks of August, you will thank this article and the Alive family for setting you up for success.
Don't get blind sided this winter. Don't get ran over with schedules. Don't push your own fitness goals aside, make room for them too. Be proactive and Embrace the new season!
