Proper fit. It’s a really simple concept but very hard to do right. Above all, proper fit is paramount for protective equipment. Without this quality, risk of injury and discomfort greatly increase. With so many catchers of different shapes and sizes, it is a must that we develop gear which can be individually customized to ensure proper fit. Our gear works with the player, not against. With fit properly dialed in, a player can direct all focus to the game and not a chest protector which keeps dropping too low.

7 MVP HELMET AND TRADITIONAL MASK SIZING + FITTING:

BRAD JURGA -ALL-STAR SPORTING GOODS

For the most accurate sizing, it is recommended to use the players hat size, found by measuring the circumference of the player’s head, and then using the chart to the left to figure out recommended model / size.

CHEST PROTECTOR SIZING + FITTING: All-Star® chest protectors are measured from the top of the sternum to a players naval. Depending on chest protector model, AllStar® chest protectors are available in 9, 13, 14.5, 15.5, and 16.5 inch lengths. If the player measures in between chest protector lengths it is recommended to select the longer length. The chest protector should fit high, with the throat guard over the base of the neck. Because the DeltaFlex™ harness is adjustable in 4 different locations you can dial in a fit that is perfect for you.

LEG GUARD SIZING + FITTING: Best done while seated, measure from center of player’s knee cap to the top of the players cleats. Depending on leg guard model, All-Star® leg guards are available in 10.5, 11.5, 12.5, 13, 14.5, 15.5, and 16.5 inch lengths. If the player measures in between leg guard lengths it is recommended to select the longer length. Remember, on our Pro Series and System Seven™ leg guards, please adjust both sides of the DeltaFlex™ harness for the best fit. DeltaFlex™ harness should cradle the back of the calf muscle, lining up centered down the back of the calf.

MVP4000 CAGE COMPARISION TITANIUM (TI): All-Star’s titanium cages are extremely lightweight and durable. They are forged from a unique titanium alloy blend which is proven to be much stronger than pure titanium. The MVP4000TI weighs a mere 41.9 oz.

MVP4000 SERIES SYSTEM SEVEN™

The System Seven™ MVP4000 Series is suggested for anyone who experiences ball speeds around 100MPH. Used and recommended by more professional athletes than any other brand, the MVP4000 masks are the safest and most durable catchers masks available. These feature titanium or hollow steel cages, an extremely durable polycarbonate shell, breathable 3D mesh padding liner, a backplate designed to keep the snaps on, and an extra band of shock absorbing vinyl nitrile in the forehead.

SUPER LIGHT (SL): The Super Light cage is made of a light weight hollow steel I-BAR VISION™ wire. The cage is very durable, but the titanium cage can take much more abuse over numerous seasons. The MVP4000SL weighs 44.1 oz.

The System Seven™ designed MVP2500 series masks are recommended for college through youth catching and umpiring. The helmet features an I-BAR VISION™ steel cage, a high impact resistant ABS plastic shell with increased forehead thickness, a backplate designed to keep the snaps on, and a breathable 3D mesh padding liner.

MVP2500 CAGE SPECS I-BAR VISION™ STEEL: The MVP2500 series and MVP2400 mask is outfitted with an I-BAR VISION™ steel cage. The bars on the cage around the eye openings are flatter for increased range of view and to make the bars stronger. Instead of using a round steel wire, the I-BAR VISION™ cages utilize a flat bar which is comparable to an I-Beam used in building construction. The MVP2500 series masks weigh 45.2 oz

QUICK TIP:

With the padding designed to be easily removed for washing, replacement padding can also be purchased separately (page 69). Having a second set of padding is ideal when one set is in the wash or for hot summer double headers. Simply swap the padding between games or innings.

MACHINE WASHABLE PADDING The padding can be machine washed with a mild detergent and should be left to air dry. Padding is treated with the AEGIS Microbe Shield® to help prevent any bacterial or mildew growth. AEGIS Microbe Shield® is permanent for the life of the product and does not wash out.

QUICK TIP: Replacement padding can also be purchased. Lots of athletes choose to have a second back up set for when one liner set is in the wash, or for game days with double headers. Changing the pads between games will feel like putting on a brand new mask.

SNAPS STAY SNAPPED Exclusive to the MVP4000, MVP2500, & MVP2400 series masks, the snaps on the back of the helmet are designed to stay on. Each strap runs under a “bridge” which makes it impossible to pull off the buckle. Even if the snaps come undone, the built in bridges will not allow the buckle to pass through. The straps also flow over the edges of the back plate, rather than through it, to keep the straps from snagging your ears when the mask is pulled on and off.

RED ZONE AREAS HAVE INTERNAL PLATE PROTECTION Unique to All-Star®, all of our chest protectors have internal and moldable P.E. plastic plates embedded in the collar bone, throat, and sternum for added protection. The P.E. plates are lightweight, but when impacted, help protect the athlete from foul balls, blocking, and home plate collisions. On top of that, they are also moldable. This means that curving the shoulders of the chest protector will improve the fit, as the chest protector will hang on the player, wrapping up and over the shoulders, keeping the throat guard high and in place.

QUICK TIP: ROLL IT UP!

A great way to store your chest protector is to roll it up as it will help mold the internal collarbone PE plates to be curved up and over your shoulders. To keep the chest protector securely rolled up, tuck it inside a leg guard and use the DeltaFlex™ harness to secure it in place.

The System Seven™ CP30PRO is All-Star’s most lightweight and breathable chest protector. Various components were handpicked for specific qualities, such as breathability, flexibility, and ball dampening.

MOLDABLE PROTECTION

Strategically placed lightweight plastic plates around the collar bone, throat, and sternum areas will take the brunt of an impact, not you. Shown on page 14, rolling up the chest protector between uses will help curve the shoulder plates to conform to the body.

Wedged Abs

Six abdomen pads have been angled downward... and as a result, balls blocked stay close. This feature transforms the chest protector into a vital tool used to make uncontrollable balls a thing of the past.

CUSTOM FIT

The DeltaFlex™ harness gives the chest protector four-point adjustability. The harness is constructed with wider straps which won’t dig in and also features an elastic neoprene triangle which keeps the chest protector positioned exactly where needed.

LG30WPRO / LG30SPRO SYSTEM SEVEN™ LIGHTWEIGHT DURABILITY

When designing the System Seven™ LG30PROs, we took note of the areas which take the most abuse, such as the knees, and made the plastic thicker to withstand more abuse. Perforated padding allows the legs to breath while at the same time reduce the overall weight of the leg guards.

MOLDABLE PROTECTION

The shin plates have 10 ventilation ports and have been designed to be customizable. The plastic is moldable, meaning that if you like wearing them snug, you can squeeze the walls and bring them in. If you like them loose and more breathable, flex the shin plate outward.

D3O® IMPACT INTEGRATION

D3O® impact technology has been incorporated into the adjustable Patella Plus™ knee pads to help protect a catcher’s knees from constant abuse. Completely repositionable, the knee pads can be strategically positioned depending on the catcher’s style.

The LG23WPRO is a professional style leg guard which features extra protective quad padding. Extra padding raises beyond the top plate to help protect quads from foul balls and blocking. The DeltaFlex™ face mask harness, which comes with all traditional style catcher’s facemasks, cups a catcher’s skull cap. Lightest pair of pro shins on the market weighing in at 49 ounces per pair. These shins are designed for running after pop flies and base runners. The DeltaFlex™ straps keep the leg guards securely in place and prevent rotation.

The System Seven™ CPU4000 features pre-curved shoulder plates which are designed to hold the chest protector up high and prevent it from sagging. Furthermore, the harness is a four point adjustable umpire specific DeltaFlex™. A neoprene center triangle connects all the harness straps, evenly distributes pressure, and keeps the chest protector snug and secured in place.

INTER-CONNECTED PLATES

The large center plastic plate that runs down the entire length of the chest protector is designed to disperse impacts over a larger area. Furthermore, all plates on the body of the chest protector are connected. When plates are impacted, no one plate will take the entire impact. Instead, the force will be transferred throughout the rest of the chest protector for the best force dispersion.

The CPU4000:S measures 12 inches in length down the center and 13 inches over the ribs while the CPU4000:L measures 15 inches in length down the center and 16 inches over the ribs.

WASHABLE PADDING

Two long strips of UltraCool™ multi layer padding run up the sides and over the shoulders of the chest protector. The padding is removable and machine washable. Padding also creates a large air gap which runs up behind the main chest plate to provide maximum air circulation.
