Student Impact

The extraordinary generosity of Allegheny donors made an incredible impact in the lives of students in 2022-23. Here are a few highlights.
Donor-funded scholarships were awarded in the amount of $7,262,395.
I chose Allegheny because I am able to push myself as a student while representing the Gators as a cross country and track athlete. The ability I have had to communicate with my professors, access research opportunities, and get involved in the Meadville community have further reinforced my decision to come here. My current career goal is to work in the medical field, most likely as a physician’s assistant or doctor. I was raised by a single father, and finding the funds to attend college was always a source of stress for me. Knowing that because of this scholarship I am able to attend such a great school and set myself up for future success has been a huge help and has shown me that I can have the future I want without being held back by finances. Thank you so much for your generosity, and know that it has made a huge difference in my life.

$243,919 was given to provide funds for students’ emergency needs through the Gator Success Grant program. 214 students requested assistance through Gator Success Grants.

Some of the ways that students were supported included: financial aid and gap funding; medical and dental bills and prescription assistance; computers and textbooks; winter coats and boots and professional attire; emergency travel; and graduate school applications.

Recently, the price of my daily asthma medication sky-rocketed up from $75 to $187. I was sorrowful, angry and desperate. Then I learned about the Gator Success Grant and applied for it. Because of your generosity, I can keep myself healthy and well again. Thank you for being there and making a difference.

I feel more prepared and confident for my future schoolwork, my future career, and my life in general. This opportunity would not have been possible without your donations. My internship experience has been amazing! I have been learning a lot of things, not only professionally but also as a person. I have been improving my skills over time and have been getting used to working through pressure and timelines. The funding that has been provided to me has been one of the best things that happened to me over the years. I have been able to do things that I could not have done without your help.
