Nordan, Lewis. Lightning Song. Algonquin Books of Chapel Hill, 1998. Note: Your syllabus (as well as other sources) combines the three-volume set of the Norton anthologies into one entry because the three are generally sold together as a set. I am a bit of a stickler when it comes to MLA style, so I list them in the more proper fashion. If you have a three-volume set of books that includes the words “Norton,” “American Literature,” and “Ninth Edition,” as well as the years “18651914,” 1914-1945,” and “Since 1945,” you will be fine. Also, you can get away with an older edition, but some works may not be included and the page numbers provided won’t match. As far as Lightning Song is concerned, ANY copy (print or electronic) of Lightbning Song by Lewis Nordan will do. –ALW

If you have any questions, comments, or need to contact me for any reason, TEXTING me is ALWAYS the best way to contact me. If you need to talk over the phone, which I very much encourage, text me your name, the name of the class, a request that I call you, and when the best time to call you would be (including “as soon as possible”), and I will call you the first chance I have or at the time you request. Do not think you are somehow bothering me by texting me. Digging through emails and course messages and somehow missing one from you or forgetting to respond bothers me. Don’t call the phone number listed on the UA-PTC website. Use my cell number is listed below:
