“I am The Iron Man!” Inspired by the movie “Kick-‐Ass” (2010), I
bought the Iron Man Helmet and Power Arm at ToysRus, “a_acking” people at the shopping mall in order to entertain the people. I found that most people are actually very lovely! These “strangers” interact with you, and some even play with you! I feel some3mes we do something not just for money, but for fun— happiness. This is the joy
that you cannot buy with money. I really enjoy this kind of happiness. As the introduc3on I put on YouTube... "IRON MAN 2.0 Thunderstruck" movie trailer has been released, coming with 4 Episodes played on Mondays in June. Please sit back, relax, and enjoy it to keep your Monday blues away.”

To my surprise, the video was wide
I then broadcasted my idea on air:
spread and shared. People started talking about it, and it even became one of the most popular videos among that month on YouTube.
“The reason why I did this is because I want to let people know that everybody can make a difference!
Then journalists started calling on me, invi3ng me (and my friend, who is the camera guy) for further report. I took the AppleDaily’s (the biggest news company in Taiwan) invita3on.
It doesn’t ma_er if you have superpowers or not, everybody can be his or her own hero. We all have the magic to make people happy. And making people happy will benefit you to be a more happier person!”
Filmed in 2005, awarded as the Winner and the Best Audience’s SelecOon in Campus Movie Clip Compe33on, NCU.
It was a process of brainstorming. We had tried many different plots, but none of them were the movie we really want to make. Eventually, we narrowed down some elements we wanted, i.e. Campus life, Comedy, Secret Agent, Otaku (Nerd in Japanese), and Love. So, we mixed up these factors together and made this film.
“The Nerd Buster!”
Since our team was small, everyone has to work 3ghter on details. Though hard work, we are very sa3sfied with the outcome.

STORY: Wayne is a Super Nerdy college student. He made a wish in front of his best friends on his birthday: he really wants to have a GIRLFRIEND!
Decided to take this Mission, his buddies form a secret team to help Wayne. Can the team and Wayne finally win the girl’s heart?
Music: We used a wide range of music, from
movie tracks, USA/UK pop songs, Taiwan pop songs to Japanese Anima3on songs. Everybody has their preferred songs, so we collected them together, and choose the most suitable ones.
Actors, The team members were from Actress, our department. Everyone in Director: the team was also an actor/
actress. Meanwhile, we all had to be director while others are ac3ng. It was a great experience, because then we learned not just about ac3ng, but direc3ng as well.
Edi7ng: Since the 3me was very 3ght,
we worked on edi3ng in 3 shios! During day3me, some went to class while some edited the movie. At nighpme we got together to review the work.

STORY: In the ancient Chinese History, from A.D. 208 -‐ 280, with the declining of Han Dynasty, new heroes rising to compete and trying to replace it. Ba_les, poli3cal tricks, new weapons and technologies were thus created to win the game. Three major forces built “The Three Kingdoms”, compe3ng to win over the whole China territory....
PLAYERS: 2 -‐ 4 players, select one of the Three
Kingdoms, or the Neutral Force. These ancient characters of the kingdom will become the players’ cards. Players then lead the Generals, Warriors, Soldiers to defeat the other armies with force, or control the Think Tanks, Military Advisers, Poli3cians to nego3ate, trade, ally with other players.
The Three Kingdoms
Created in the military, I designed the idea of the card game, and then two of my buddies joined the team. The prototype was drawn with pen on scratch papers, and aoer few tests, friends from other squads wanted to play the game too.
We then had to start “mass-‐producing” our cards. Since there are only three members in the team, I was responsible for crea3ng new cards (new characters, new items, and new skills). Another friend was in charge of reviewing my new cards and balancing the numbers. Once approved by the two of us, our other friend will start drawing pictures, making the cards more vivid. We had a great 3me crea3ng the game. And we had to split our 3me: 50% to teach new players how to play, 50% for crea3ng new cards. We were so excited playing with other people that we even held a compe33on, where only the best team can challenge us, the designers.
-‐ The Dice:
-‐ A$ributes:
While performing the Skills of characters, throw the dice to decide if it is performing successfully. The characters ability is numbered from 0 -‐ 10, the higher number, the be_er chance to succeed.
Each card has an a_ribute of the unit. There are four a_ributes: Infantry, Knight, Pikeman, and Archer. (See image on the leo) Infantry to Pikeman, Pikeman to Knight, Knight to Infantry gain extra 2 points while a_acking. Archer a_acks from distance. Infantry, Knight, and Pikeman gain extra 2 points while a_acking Archer.
-‐ The King:
There might be several characters with the “King Hat” symbol. Choose one character with the King Hat to be the king. Once your king is defeated, you will lose the game immediately.

more people, I upgraded the look of the cards, adding new elements like the “APributes” of the unit and the “The Soldiers” system to be more strategic. Aoer tested with my friends; they loved it and joined the team to help. Once I introduced the game to the new friends I just met, they were impressed and obsessed. They asked me to send them a copy so they can play in Taipei (another city), and established a fans’ club to keep developing the game.

-‐ The Soldiers:
To summon each character, players need to assign required Soldiers for the character to lead, from 10 -‐ 100 thousands soldiers. Mostly, the stronger the character is, the more Soldiers he/she requires.
-‐ The Forma;on:
Simula3ng ancient Chinese ba_le forma3on: a 3 (Central army, Leo army, Right army) x 2 (Front line, Back line). The king (Main camp) is on the back of the ba_lefield. Cards are placed covered.
• Found the hidden trail in the village
“My Childhood Adventure...” In memory of my Grandma, I created this RPG in 2007 with the sooware RPG maker 2003.
Beginning with my elementary school age, you will choose the adventure team members from my schoolmates, exploring the “Back Mountain”, Buddha Temple, and The School. The Danger is around you everywhere; remember your avatar is an elementary
school student, so the neighbor’s doggy, roosters, the mountain trails, snakes, monkeys, and even in school, you might fight with classmates, or other boys from other classes or grades. Learning New Skills from your Grandpa, father, and the schoolteachers will help you to survive! Also, a Fusion of true story and imaginary world, your father is a stray hero, your grandpa a re3red king, and the neighboring schools are other Kingdoms. Based on true stories, an imaginary adventure begins...
• Grandma’s room, beginning of the game.
• Help Grandma massage to get few dollars
• Ask Grandpa where to find Father
• Fighting with a mountain monkey

-‐ Programming:
This is the first 3me I feel like I am a programmer. In order to create the events as similar as my childhood, I spent lots of 3me studying the manual, collec3ng informa3on online, and consul3ng people in forums. Also, to make the game more “playable”, many variables and sepngs are needed to create diverse events. Triggering different events and making different choices will lead to a different story.
-‐ Music:
I didn’t actually create the music, but I searched for suitable, authorized materials online, and then edited or remixed them for the game.
-‐ Maps:
This is another fun part while crea3ng the game. In fact, I not only recalled from my memory, but also consulted my dad, my brother, and my elementary classmates to rebuild the scenes loyally in our childhood.
• Setting up the team
-‐ Characters:
Based on true people, I transformed their personal images into suitable but imaginary roles in the game. For example, my athlete friend learning “Tae Kwon Do” will be my reliable partner as a Warrior, and my nerdy friend who is good at natural science will be the Wizard, performing magic (science) where he can a_ain new advanced magic by learning from the Wizard Master (our science teacher)!
