About Delhi The burgeoning city of Delhi is India’s unmistakable center of power and heart of the world’s largest democracy. The National Capital Region has become an engine for economic growth and a magnet for media, fashion, and the arts. Delhi will soon be one of the largest cities in the world, yet its historic charm still prevails in the narrow winding lanes of Old Delhi and along the grand tree-lined boulevards of New Delhi. The vibrant chaos of this urban metropolis, balanced with its stately historic monuments, is a testament to Delhi’s role as capital city of a rising Asian superpower.
