Welcome to our Second Annual Bull Sale. We appreciate the time you are taking to evaluate our sale offering. As you look closer, we hope you have noticed the progress our cattle have made in a year’s time. The giant leaps of improvement here at Parker Cattle Co. are due to our investments into other programs that have stood the test of time. Ten years ago, we dove head first into the Simmental, SimAngus™ seedstock business. The advice we took most to heart: “invest in quality cattle and they will always retain their value”. So we hit the ground running acquiring our factory set of females from the NLC/3C ranch in South Dakota. We then added an ET program with hand selected females like Kappes Lacey U431, GLS Sadie W313, and HRM Dual Focus W951. We have put a lot miles into gathering an incredible set females to generate practical, profitable, and efficient seedstock. As the cattle business drives forward, we believe that quality genetics will become more valuable. We accept the challenge of change that is coming to the beef industry. With change always comes opportunity, our opportunity is to establish relationship with progressive cattleman and begin a tradition of quality cattle. The Inaugural bull started us on the right foot of building relationships with regional commercial cattleman. Thank you for taking a leap of faith into a new program for you bull acquisitions. Please feel free to give us a call or stop in to evaluate this year’s offering. The bulls also can be seen on DV Auctions. We hope your calving season is going well and look forward to seeing you on sale day!
Reed and Abi
Robbie and Austin
Sincerely, The Parkers
The Parker family is primed and ready for year number two after a great first year sale! Taking the big leap into the front lines of the genetics business can be a daunting proposition, but the first effort showed the true metal of this operation and high value bulls found new homes both locally and around the mid-west. Often newer programs with a track record of AI technology utilization and commitment to customers are some of the best places to source bulls for the money. This year will be no exception. Just look through the offering of powerhouse genetics and you will find quality top to bottom with an emphasis on balanced bulls that will please both genetically and from a phenotype perspective. At Allied we only work with the best, that is a significant part of our value proposition to the beef business. The bull of the month club and operations that offer a great look without long term plans for profitability are simply not in this business for the long term. Brett, Sally and Reed bring a better option forward and a no nonsense approach to the beef business. These cattle perform without extra management or supplementation and they will do that for you too. Call Brett, Reed or any of the Parker clan to schedule an appointment to see the bulls personally or call Garrett Thomas at 936-714-4591 to get the Allied perspective on the offering on sale day. Don’t forget that buying a bull this year almost guarantees you an invitation to Reed’s wedding this summer!! Should be a great event and well worth the price of a great bull or two…. Sincerely,
Marty Ropp

ABOUT THE BULLS
We feel developing the bulls modestly leads to bulls that will last. All the bulls are fed a high forage ration designed for them to gain 3lb. per day. The 18 month old bulls were weaned last March and then put on a feed test for 120 days. In September, the bulls were allowed to graze until November. They are sound and ready to do a lot of work this spring and summer. The yearling bulls were weaned the third week of August. Modest development to gain 3lb. per day. These bulls will do more than this. There is no reason these bulls cannot continue to work until they are 8 or 9 years old. We feel they can do this.
BREEDING GUARANTEE
All bulls will be semen evaluated and pass a breeding soundness exam prior to the sale. Bulls bringing above $3500.00 will be guaranteed for the first breeding season. The breeding season is defined as 90 days following bull turn out. Injuries following that period will not be covered. Should a bull be injured, Parker Cattle Company needs to be contacted immediately following the injury and be examine by our Veterinarian. The purchase price will be refunded to the buyer minus the salvage value or that amount will be allowed as a credit towards the purchase of another bull at the next future sale. All claims must be made by September 15th. Customers who opt to have their bulls fed at our ranch following the sale are encouraged to purchase insurance. Insurance will be available for purchase sale day. We do recommend insuring your bulls purchase through the first breeding season.
FEEDING AND DELIVERY
All bulls will be available to be picked up the day of the sale. 18 month old bulls can be cared for until April 1. Yearling bulls will be cared for but will be fed and cared for until April 15. We are more than happy to assist in delivery of all bulls.
SEMEN INTEREST
Parker Cattle Co. will retain 1/3 semen and revenue sharing interest on all bulls selling. If Parker Cattle Co. chooses to collect a bull, it will be done at the buyer’s convenience and our cost.
ONLINE BIDDING
The sale will be broadcast live online at www.alliedonlinesales.com For more information, see page 13.

Parker Cattle Co. With little surprise, United has become the top bull in the SimAngus breed. He uniquely combines style and power with outstanding growth and carcass, allowing him to be at the top of many producers’ shortlists. These sons offered here will prove to be sound herd sire investments for both commercial and seedstock producers.

EASTERN COLORADO AND WESTERN KANSAS offer unique environmental challenges for cattle production. The area can be as hot or, cold as any, along with periods of extreme moisture conditions. Cattle must spend a portion of the year grazing low quality crop residues. Over the last 25 years Black Angus cattle have become the dominant breed of cattle. Heterosis is one of the few low cost management tools to improve pounds produced, heifer fertility and improved carcass quality. Choosing the correct breed to complement Angus takes some research. Of the wide variety of breeds available for crossbreeding Simmental seems to have the best fit. When implementing a crossbreeding program, calving ease has to be the first concern. After that, the decision needs to be made, whether or not to keep the females. We believe moderate framed, deep well-muscled, easy fleshing females are a must. We believe Simmental makes the most sense in a cross breeding program, whether or not you have a terminal program or a maternal program to take advantage of the crossbred female. - Page 3 -

MR NLC AVENUE 3088A || Sire of Lots 5 & 6.
Avenue is slowly becoming known as the go to United son. Early reports suggest he is a step in the right direction as an improvement to his sire by producing calmer disposition; more moderate, deeper bodied stature; and added athleticism structural package. These attributes lead us to believe Avenue’s true value is in his heifer progeny.

HRM/TRPH DUAL FOCUS W951 || Dam of Lots 5 & 6.
Lot 5 and 6 represent the future of Parker Cattle Co. as we have nine full sisters in the replacement pen. The cow power represented in this mating is what dreams are made of. They combine the most powerful and productive cow at NLC ranch (Stevie R5267 grand dam of Avenue) along with the R77 and Honey L9 cows generated by TNT Simmentals. These sons of W951 have tremendous breeding potential as herd sire prospects.

ALLIED BY REPUTATION. FOCUSED ON SERVICE. - Page 15 -
WE CAN HELP YOU get the most out of your bull purchase by helping you implement an AI program. We have been breeding cattle professionally for over 15 years. Following some basic guidelines can make an AI program a success. Research tells us cows greater than 50 days post-partum have a significantly greater chance to become pregnant than those having calves more recently. Before you begin calving choose the day you wish to begin your breeding season. Count back 50 days and circle that date on the calendar. Those cows who calve before that date will be your first breeding group. Those having calved less than 50 days can have a bull turned with them while group one is being bred. Or, wait three weeks and breed those AI in a second group. This helps your younger calves due to the AI genetics in some of those younger calves. During the busy spring season synchronization is the most practical method. The two shot prostaglandin combined with heat detection results in too many heats being missed. This is why a 7-day CDIR program with timed insemination works best. On day one put CDIRs in along with an injection of GNRH. Seven days later remove the CDIRs and give a prostaglandin injection, we like estrumate. If you wish breed off heat until 72 hours, at this point breed all remaining females. If you wish not to heat detect, begin mass breeding the cows 60 hours after pulling CDIRs. You must pull the bulls 60 days after the after the AI date. Forty days after pulling bulls, ultrasound your cows. Sell the open cows to save feed. A large percentage, 60-80 %, of your calves will be born in the first 30 days. It is a learning process. Generally, the first year is the worst, but you learn and make improvements. It will be worth it. If interested ask us for help. SUCCESSFUL DEVELOPMENT AND BREEDING OF REPLACEMENT HEIFERS Many are considering additional heifers to breed and sell, some guidelines will help you make this venture a success. Before purchasing the heifers decide when you plan to breed them. Heifers need to be 14 months old to successfully enter an AI program. Buy heifers which are of above average quality, not all heifers born are destined to become a cow, the buyers will appreciate you for this. Nutrition is a must. Heifers need to be developed but not over developed to become fat. Over conditioned heifers can be as much of a problem as under conditioned heifers. Develop them so they are in a BCS of 5-6 but not more. All vaccinations need to have been given at least 30 days prior to breeding. If you breed them AI, use quality semen from a proven bull. Buy your semen directly from a distributor, not from another producer [you do not know if it has been handled properly]. We have quality semen available from ABS-Global and Allied Genetic Resources. If you need your heifers bred, we can do it. It is possible to breed them outside the corral. It all takes planning and commitment. The days you are breeding the heifers, it does need to be the most important thing you do that day. Cutting corners only leads to poor results. We can also breed your heifers at our ranch. So give us a call. You will find an AI program can reduce bull power and assure you get the calves you desire. 970-597-0831

UNITED’S FIRST GREAT 3/4 BLOOD SON. TOP SELLER FOR NLC IN 2014. Pure power and performance with all the muscle and volume you could possibly ask for! Avenue was the Lot #1 and powerhouse W/C United son that led off the 2014 NLC/3C bull sale. With plenty of breeder friends bidding sale day he brought $31,000 to top the event and solidify his place among the elite seedstock bulls to sell in 2014. MR Avenue offers top 1% or 2% rankings for all growth traits (WW, YW and CW EPDs) and does it all without adding unnecessary extra frame. Individually he ratioed 115 with 74 contemporaries at yearling and still posted a birth weight below herd average. Use this unique ¾ blood United son to sire the next generation of purebred cattle with the extra volume, rib shape and center body dimension every breeder is looking for. Avenue’s first calves have just hit the ground and the reports on birth weight and quality are very good.

HOOK’S BOULEVARD 41B Homo Black, Homo Polled || PB SM ASA# 2854497 DOB: 3/5/2014 Tattoo: 41B
MUSCLE, WIDTH AND POWER. 1509 AT YEARLING ON A 6.5 FRAME. Boulevard could have just as easily been named Mountain for all of the performance, muscle, volume and power he possesses! A son of the balanced trait leader Hooks Yellowstone, he pounded out a 123 Average Daily Gain ratio along with a 1509 pound adjusted yearling weight. His yearling 6.5 frame score too should be ideal for those looking for a bit more power without overdoing it. Phenotypically too he is imposing. Massive quartered, big ribbed and stout from end to end, he should do everything right for making powerful sons for the next generation. The good news is, there is more to Boulevard than just big growth. He currently ranks in the top 15% for CE and BW EPD after DNA addition and his productive dam, 14U has 4 calves at 105 for weaning ratio and 107 yearling ratio. His grand dam is also the grand dam of Hooks Bozeman. Use 41B to improve performance and sire more depth of body than his popular sire.
