Dear Friend, You’re Getting Married? CONGRATULATIONS! Among all of the pieces you’re putting together and all of the planning keeping you busy, I’m so delighted that somewhere along the way, you found me! And you’re obsessed with colors too? AWESOME! I am excited to learn more about you and your fiancé, and to dive right in to the details of your Wedding Day Vision. Whether you have found a Suite in the 2014 Collection that you already LOVE or you’re eager to embark on the custom design process, it is with great pleasure that I collaborate with brides like you to design all the pretty paper details that foreshadow and compliment one of the biggest days of your life! Through color and font choices, envelopes and liners, and all the lovely paper options, I’m here to help you throughout the entire process. Maybe you already have some great ideas of your own ... and I would LOVE to hear them! Exercising our creative energies is a rewarding experience, and as a team, we can bring your vision to life! The Breakdown COLLECTION Design takes up to 2 weeks Production takes 3-4 weeks Must order a minimum of 50 suites You will get 1 initial round of designs with the details you first provide You will get 2 additional rounds of edits and proofing Additional edits will result in an extra charge Pricing ranges depending on quantity and paper selection. For 100 suites including: invitations, rsvp, and both corresponding blank envelopes: 110 lb Matte: $3.86 100 lb Textured Felt: $3.74 130 lb Linen or 107 lb Shimmer: $4.24 118 lb Tree-Free Cotton: $4.46 Pricing is set up Ă la carte later in this guide. The Breakdown CUSTOM Design takes up to 12 weeks Production takes 3-4 weeks Must order a minimum of 50 suites including 5 designed pieces You will get 3 initial concepts, 1 initial round of designs , and 4 additional rounds of edits and proofing Additional edits will result in an extra charge We will work together as a team, dig deep below the surface of typical wedding inspiration, and enjoy a creative journey toward paper details completely unique to you and your fiancĂŠ! Rates are the same as collection pricing plus an additional $300+ design fee. Collection pricing is set up Ă la carte later in this guide. Ready to begin? Oooh, Paper Choices! ALLISONKATHLEEN.COM
Paper & Printing PRINTING: All printing is done on a professional digital press for affordability and limitless color opportunities. Because I do LOVE options, you have your choice of 5 types of quality cardstock ranging from a simple and smooth 110 lb matte to 118 lb tree-free cotton for some added luxury. COTTON: At 118 lbs, this is my favorite! Cotton stock is both a luxury and an environmentally friendly option as it is tree-free. It has a soft finish and is typically used for letter press printing, but looks great with digital printing as well. The cotton fibers are left over from textiles. LINEN: At 130 lbs, this high quality paper provides a heavy weight with a sophisticated texture. SHIMMER: The perfect added touch of glamour, this shimmer paper is chic, stylish and a heavy weight of 107 lb. FELT: Heavy Cardstock Felt is a 100 lb, uncoated bright white stock with a textured finish. HEAVY CARDSTOCK MATTE: At our lowest price point, this smooth stock remains an excellent choice for invitations. At 110 lb, it is a heavy weight, yet more affordable option. ENVELOPES: Envelopes are a great way to bring even more color into your invitation suite. I love finding and designing with all the newest color options, but do not hesitate to ask if you don’t see the color you’re looking for. I absolutely LOVE a color challenge! CALLIGRAPHY: Modern hand calligraphy is a lovely addition to your invitation suite or place cards. I custom mix my inks to match any color scheme. Please let me know if you’re interested and I’ll provide you with additional calligraphy rates and scheduling information. Beyond the type of paper, are you unsure what pieces you need to order? You have no idea if you need any extra information cards or stationery for the day of? No worries, I’m here to help you! We can discuss these details in the first stages of the ordering process found later in this guide.
Stationery Timeline You’re Engaged, CELEBRATE!! It’s the start of a wonderful creative experience!
12 months prior Determine size of guest list and order Save the Dates
6 - 11 months prior Send Save the Dates
6 months prior + Start the Custom Invitation Design Process!
Bridal Shower can be held up to 6 months prior (Consider advising your bridesmaids to order invitations and matching Thank You cards at least 2.5 months prior to the shower) 4 months prior Order Invitations / Send Custom Invitations to production
3 months prior Addressing / Calligraphy
10 weeks prior Ideal Mail Date (If most of your guests are NOT local)
8 weeks prior Latest Mail Date (If most of your guests are local)
1 month prior RSVPs should be coming in and day-of details should be sent to production
After Mailing Focus on Day-Of Stationery (fill in missing program info or menu items, etc.)
Wedding Day! About 2 months after, send Thank You Cards
2014 Collection Ordering Process You’ve picked your favorite suite out of the A.K. Collection? GREAT! Let’s get started! 1. Contact me: hello@allisonkathleen.com a. Provide your specifics (wedding date, location, colors, invitation wording, etc.) b. Consider your vision and what edits that you might make to the existing colors and design. I will let you know if your edits are beyond what’s included in the existing pricing. c. Let’s determine what pieces you need and the quantity of each. d. Consider your budget and what paper option will work best for you. e. Are you having me address your invitations in my calligraphy? (The calligraphy portion of my schedule fills up fast, so let me know ASAP.) f. Are you considering any day-of paper details? (You do not have to order them now, but by letting me know, I can build it into your timeline.) 2. Quote and timeline a. You may refer to the timeline in this packet, but I will provide you with specific deliverable dates. b. You may also refer to the price guide in this packet, but I will provide you with a proposal specific to your needs, and request a 50% deposit to my paypal to get started. 3. I will hibernate with your details for a few days (2-3) a. After your deposit payment has been processed, I will make your edits and send you a first round of proofs. b. Be sure to show it off to the whole family, you never know who will give you feedback. c. 1-2 additional rounds of edits are included. d. Any additional edits will be charged at an hourly rate of $40. 4. The final sign-off and payment - YAY! a. I’ll require you to give the final okay to send to print. b. I will invoice you for the final amount (less the deposit) - and as soon as that has been processed, I’ll SEND TO PRINT! 5. Production / Quality Control a. Physical proofs may be available for an additional cost. b. Otherwise, I will handle all quality control on my end. 6. In the meantime ... a. Is your guest list ready for addressing? b. What other finishing touches can I help you with? How about custom or vintage stamps! 7. Assembly and Mailing a. I’ll either package them up and mail them back to you (USPS flat rate shipping will be included in your invoice) b. Or I’m happy to assemble and mail them for an additional fee (please let me know in your initial communication with me.) *Day-of Details: We will work through a similar procedure for pieces like the menu, program, and place cards. By letting me know your interest in your initial communication, I will be sure to keep us on schedule according to your RSVP date.
Custom Wedding Suite Design Process You’re ready to embark on the creative journey of custom design? I’m so excited, too! 1. Contact me: hello@allisonkathleen.com a. Provide your specifics. Let’s determine what pieces you need and the quantity of each. d. Consider your budget and what paper option will work best for you. e. Are you having me address your invitations in my calligraphy? (The calligraphy portion of my schedule fills up fast, so let me know ASAP) f. What day-of paper details are you considering? (You do not have to order the final quantities now, but by letting me know, I can build it into your timeline) 2. Quote and timeline - Same as Collection (see previous page, step 2) 3. Let’s get inspired! a. After your deposit payment has been processed, we will begin to seek inspiration and create a mood board! b. Wedding magazines and blogs are obvious, but let’s go beyond these to really seek inspiration specific to you and your fiancé. I’ll help you out here, it’ll be fun! c. Let’s schedule a phone call or skype meeting to channel our creative energies all at once! After all, we are a team! 4. I’ll conceptualize a few design ideas (usually 3) a. Sometimes I’ll provide a sketch. b. Sometimes I’ll draw from the mood board to explain. c. With your feedback, I’ll use your choice of concept to design several invite/rsvp pieces for you to choose from. d. With your feedback, I’ll make any basic revisions then complete the remainder of your suite pieces. 5. Revisions - 3 rounds are included once we’ve moved beyond step 4 - Be sure to show it off to the whole family, you never know who will give you feedback. 6. The final sign-off and payment - Same as Collection (see previous page, step 4) 7. Production / Quality Control - Same as Collection (see previous page, step 5) 8. In the meantime - Same as Collection (see previous page, step 6) 9. Assembly and Mailing - Same as Collection (see previous page, step 7) 10. Day-of Details a. Since I do require a minimum of 5 custom designed pieces, it is likely you’ll want some custom day-of details in addition to the invitation. b. We will work through a similar procedure for pieces like the menu, program, and place cards but will need to begin the process at least 2 months prior to your wedding date.
