poetics of movement This project invovled first thinking of word sequences and iterating on what their spaces would be like. Next, the spaces were put together in order to form a building containing five sequences of spaces relating to five words of choice. The five words I used for the final model related to feelings; fear, despair, hope, clarity, and joy.

site analysis The site in question is located in the Over-The-Rhine area of Cincinnati, Ohio. Before beginning a project involving the design of a poetry foundation on an empty lot in OTR, groups of 2 to 3 students analyzed their respective sites. When analyzing the site, I focused on studying solar and shadow patterns, parking areas around the site, public transportation lines, and additionally looking at potential programming of the building based on the information gathered from the site. My group members studied wind direction, traffic patterns, noise, and the types of buildings in the surrounding neighborhood along with views from the site, as shown below.
MUSIC HALL
07
Music Hall is home to the Cincinnati Symphony and Pops Orchestras, the Cincinnati Opera, Cincinnati Ballet, and May Festival. Music Hall was built in 1878 and was recognized as a National Historic Landmark by the U.S. Department of the Interior in January 1975. It is located at the heart of Over-the-Rhine and is a popular location for large events.
WASHINGTON PARK ENTRANCE
Washington Park is home to various events throughout Over-the-Rhine. Events happen in the park all year long and include concerts, festivals, movie nights, and various other occasions that bring the community together. The park is often populated daily by local families or serves as a gathering place for large groups.
INTERSECTION OF RACE ST AND 14TH ST
The intersection of Race Street and 14th Street is one of the four corners bordering Washington Park. This particular location facilitates heavy traffic as people move around the park. This traffic includes multiple bus lines, the streetcar, street parking, vehicular traffic, and pedestrian circulation between the park and the surrounding area.
ZULA
Zula Restaurant and Wine Bar is located on the corner of Race Street and 14th Street. This affordable up-scale restaurant is one example of the many popular food and beverage destinations around the area. Many local restaurant and commercial shops are easy walking distance from Washington Park area and Site B.

patio project proposal This was a personal project for my dad who wants an outdoor entertaining space on our existing patio area. The entertaining space was to include an outdoor fireplace and a bar area with space for a grill. After seeing which arrangement would best maximize the flow of the entertaining space, I used Photoshop to render the final choice. Programs used include Auto Cad, Rhinoceros 3D, and Photoshop to create this proposal, which is still in the conceptual stage.

the folly As the final project for first year, our task was to create a structure within the space of an 8x8x8 foot cube that utilizes threshold, repetitive objects, circulation, and seating areas. We had to take into account our site, the neighboring follies, and the views people would have from within our own folly when coming up with the final design. Our provided materials were OSB sheets, 2x4’s and the necessary nails. We were required to use additional white items in a a repetitive manner, and our group chose to use PVC pipes. My design contributions to this project were site, volume, and assembly diagrams.

the line cube Within the area of a 12x12x12 inch cube, the idea of defining space using only lines was acheived through studying spatial relations and balance. The process of this project led to an understanding of negative space and its use as well. Materials in this project include basswood, wood glue, bristol paper, and micron pens. Post-project editing was done on Photoshop and Illustrator.

100 + 1 studies By using an everyday object, its use and purposes were re-imagined in order to create new textures and uses. The first 100 + 1 project was completed with band-aids and a Kleenex box, while the Body Mantle 100 + 1 project used paper clips and an elastic band. Post editing was done using Photoshop and Illustrator.

drawings Drawings were completed as responses to prompts given during the SAID 1012 Communication Skills course in the Spring of 2017. Mediums included micron pens and graphite, and techniques explored included cross hatching and shading.

photography Light, shadow, texture, and composition have always been the focus of my camera. I enjoy leisurely exploring the world (and dogs) around me through my camera lens. My love for photography was developed through a high school class and has only grown more in appreciation ever since.

digital and hand-drawn art Digital prints are an enjoyable passtime for me, and I have found opportunities to grow this passion for new purposes, including the creation of my own Etsy store to sell prints. Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop are the programs I use in order to create. In addition to digital art, I enjoy sketching and doing full drawings, both of which shown are completed in graphite.
