Turkey is undergoing momentous change. Individuals, organisations and the community as a whole are in need of leaders that can help realize their potential. One thing is crystal clear: Turkey is one of the most promising and upcoming economical, political and social powers in the world. This Masters in Coaching, Consulting and Leadership in Organisations provides its participants with the personal and professional capabilities needed to perform a leadership role in any environment. The programme will appeal to anyone committed to the future of Turkey and wanting to initiate change and be a part of it. It is for committed, young professionals who work in management in commercial, public and non-profit organisations and want to make a difference as part of a growing community of practitioners in leadership, consulting and coaching. It is an exciting, challenging, two year part-time programme accredited by Middlesex University, London and will begin in Istanbul, in April 2011.

Welcome

Welcome to the European Leadership Centre 30 years of organising world-class executive education

What to expect

The MCCLO-programme is built around a process of personal development based on action learning. What the programme aims to fulfill is the participant’s personal development as an influential leader. Much emphasis is placed on developing a learning community in which high levels of collaboration will be fostered. In the MCCLO-programme, we have chosen a system of short modules spread over a two-year period. From the beginning, participants are expected to combine their previous and present work experience, the content of the different modules and their influencing skills. The final project will draw on the participant’s action learning abilities: how can they implement what they have learned into the community where they work? This is why the final project culminates in a project presentation not just for the programme’s faculty members, but also for stakeholders from the participants own organisations.

Flexible learning approaches - A real life focus

What to expect

The opportunity to meet and work with different participants from other organisations provides the ultimate chance to extend ones personal and professional network. In the programme, extra attention will be paid to this networking opportunity through specially formed Learning Communities, teambuilding moments and joint assignments. The Learning Communities are consultation groups which aim to enlarge and broaden the outcomes of the learning process. Supported by their participant supervisor, participants (learn to) reflect on their own learning, exchange experiences and test each other’s insights. This process of reflection is mainly directed by the participants themselves, so they will learn from the experiences of their fellow participants as well as from the facilitators. Class sizes are kept small – typically twelve participants – so that the facilitators can spend one-on-one time with the participants to help with any specific issues they may wish to discuss.

Networking

The number of participants is geared towards a small group setting for high level interaction. If more candidates apply than places are available, a waiting list will be prepared. Those candidates who cannot be placed directly in the programme, can be admitted to next year’s course.

Practical

The MCCLO-programme is geared mainly to Turkish participants who in the future will individually and collectively influence organisations in Turkey that are forerunners in their fields. The group is composed of promising and dynamic managers or consultants from the commercial, public or non-profit sector. They have a minimum of three years relevant working experience and wish to add extra value to their professional practice. Participants will generally have a bachelor’s university degree and a good command of the English language. The programme encourages participation from all backgrounds and is therefore open to applicants from all fields of study.

Target group

Applicants can submit an Application Package to the European Leadership Centre. The package can be downloaded from the Internet. Part of the application is a short paper stating the candidate’s motivation for participating, learning goals, relevant experience and educational background. After appraisal of the papers and a first (paper) selection round, suitable candidates will be invited for an intake conversation in Istanbul. This session may help the candidates decide whether the programme is what they are actually looking for in their professional and personal development and whether they are prepared to commit to the practical and personal demands of the programme. Applicants with qualifications from non-English-speaking countries must demonstrate their English language proficiency with an IELTS or TOEFL certificate.

Internationally accredited Masters degree

Successful completion of the entire programme results in an internationally accepted Masters degree in Coaching, Consulting and Leadership in Organisations which has been accredited by Middlesex University, London.
