Throughout its 32-year existence, our Company has always been characterised by progress, forward-thinking and firm, bold steps leading into the future. For our Company innovation is a central issue in all fields, including quality, versatility, and volume. The basis of our development activity is that we always think two steps ahead, anticipate the changes, and prevent unexpected situations by continuous innovation. We firmly believe that top-quality products can be manufactured only under outstanding manufacturing conditions. Accordingly, our pharmaceutical factory has EU GMP certification, our feed additive manufacturing plant has GMP+ qualifications and our veterinary pharmaceuticals warehouse is operating according to the ISO 9001 standard. We have also received the AAA credit rating of Soliditet. Our products regularly win prizes at different trade fairs.

In 2018, Alpha-Vet received ‘the best Hungarian manufacturer of the year’ award from the European Business Awards. Even a good technical background cannot be successful without an outstanding work culture. Alpha-Vet is a family-owned big company, where people are highly valued assets. It is our firm conviction that the high-standard service of our customers is based on the well-balanced state of over 500 employees – this latter is shown by the fact that in the years 2017/2018 and 2020/2021 Alpha-Vet was granted the ‘Likeable Workplace’ award and in 2019 the ‘Family-Friendly Workplace’ distinction.

ON SOLID FOUNDATIONS

The company was built on solid foundations from the very outset. Alpha-Vet Ltd., the uninterrupted legal successor of the Veterinary Hospital of Székesfehérvár built in 1972, incorporates all the professional knowledge and human values accumulated during 48 years. In 1989, the Székesfehérvár Veterinary Practising Clinic Ltd. of the University of Veterinary Science was established, which then continued its operation under the name of Alpha-Vet Ltd. from 1996 and still serves as a practical training facility for the University of Veterinary Medicine. In 2008 the company started its veterinary pharmaceuticals manufacturing activity in Bábolna by purchasing the assets of the renowned Phylaxia company founded in 1912. Alpha-Vet completely renewed and expanded the Bábolna Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing Plant and fitted it up with cutting-edge, ‘high-tech’ manufacturing equipment. The plant has EU GMP certification, and is now manufacturing veterinary medicinal products for 30 different countries both within and outside the European Union. Alpha-Vet has two additional manufacturing sites. One of them manufactures feed additives: humic acid based products as well as products containing vitamins, amino acids, minerals, and trace elements. In the other plant manufacturing nutrient solutions for plants, foliar feeds for crops are produced. These products contain minerals, trace elements, amino acids and humic acids conforming to the demands of modern organic farming. With these own-developed products our aim is to meet the demands of chemical-free plant cultivation. 2. In 2020, our commercial divisions were renewed by merging previous fields: Agricultural Technology Division (by merging Anitech, Hygitech, Alphaplant), Veterinary Division (by merging pharmaceutical trade, Alphafeed, Phylaxia Labor), Animal Welfare and Biotechnology Division (by merging Vettech, Animal Welfare, Diagnostics) and Pet Food and Equipment Business Development Division (by merging Pet Food and Equipment Trade, ALPHAZOO, Grandopet).

FOR DEVELOPMENT

OF AGRICULTURE The basic principle of Alpha-Vet is that healthy, well-kept animals ensure the farmer’s well-being and the happiness of pet owners – this is why the company tries to provide everything which is needed for the welfare of animals. This is why the company is conducting original and generic veterinary drug development and continuously expanding its product portfolio of veterinary medicinal products, feed additives, pet foods and equipment, and this is why it supports the farmers with farm development solutions. A central element of the development activities is the up-to-date use of digital technologies and the continuous expansion of the warehouse capacity and the logistics background in line with the increasing customer demands – these elements collectively ensure customer and client satisfaction and loyalty.

THE STRENGTH OF DIVERSIFICATION

AND EXPANSION The characteristic features of Alpha-Vet include intensive research and development, diversification, and the continuously expanded product portfolio. When heading the animal hospital, Dr. Attila Móré, the company’s owner soon realised that there was an opportunity in supplying his colleagues with veterinary pharmaceuticals – this prompted him to start the veterinary pharmaceuticals trading activity. This was later expanded with the Pet division, with own pharmaceuticals manufacturing activity, the purchase of the Balatonfűzfő plant necessary for the manufacturing of feed additives, and most recently with the production of foliar feeds – in line with the fact that in many cases large-scale animal production and crop growing activities are concentrated in the hands of a single owner. The very same philosophy has led to launching the distribution of animal care and veterinary equipment and instruments. Throughout all this progress the company continues to insist on the highest quality expectations: in the different divisions of its business activity similarly highly qualified and experienced specialists meet the customers’ demands as in companies specialising in a narrow field. As a result of this company philosophy, Phylaxia Labor Kft. was established in 2019. The majority of the staff are clinical and microbiological veterinarians and biologists with decades of experience in microbiological and serological testing of food, feed, water, clinical specimens and veterinary consulting. Alpha-Vet has realised that export sales of a substantial volume are needed to raise the funds necessary for the company’s intensive development activities. With this goal in mind, we are selling products in numerous European and Middle Eastern countries.

IN THE SERVICE OF OUR CUSTOMERS AT ALPHA-VET, THE MAIN FOCUS IS ON THE CLIENTS Our team of 60 sales representatives and consultants, as well as our sales network covers the entire area of Hungary. We give expert advice to our clients in the fields of veterinary medicine, nutrition, reproduction, plant health, as well as regarding the equipment and instruments used in animal production and veterinary medicine. Our partners can purchase from us all veterinary medicinal products and feed additives having marketing authorisations and commercially available in Hungary, the products of global companies as well as small Hungarian and foreign pharmaceuticals manufacturers – the background for this sales activity is provided by the largest veterinary pharmaceuticals warehouse of Hungary. Making good use of its more than 30-year experience gained in the nutrition of companion animals, Alpha-Vet has developed its own dog and cat foods. In this way the company can provide its customers with superpremium dog and cat foods of excellent quality at an affordable price. The Pet Food business division of Alpha-Vet Ltd. deals with the sale of foods and accessories for companion animals.

We offer the broadest possible product portfolio for resellers and endusers alike; this is why we established the AlphaZoo chain of stores. Our up-to-date logistics system ensures rapid and professional product deliveries.

PROTECTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT

AND TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR SOCIETY Alpha-Vet firmly believes that we must preserve the Earth for our grandchildren. In the spirit of this, the main aim of our development activities is to replace antibiotics and pesticides with substances of natural origin, and to reduce the environmental impacts of agricultural systems. This was a fundamental consideration when modernising our pharmaceuticals manufacturing factory, establishing and equipping our feed additive manufacturing plants, and also when selecting our contract manufacturing partners. Alpha-Vet has a sense of responsibility for the professional development of Hungarian veterinarians: since 1989, it has officially served as a practical training facility for the University of Veterinary Medicine, it annually organises Hungary’s most popular veterinary postgraduate conference, which was the first in Hungary to address the subject of practice management. Alpha-Vet also maintains and operates the biggest veterinary web forum in Hungary. Every year, Alpha-Vet makes substantial donations to its partners working in healthcare, education, sports, social and cultural affairs in Székesfehérvár.

OUR WEALTH IS AN OBLIGATION FOR US

Alpha-Vet considers it an obligation to take responsibility for society, as the company is an integral part of the human community from which its employees and partners come from. This activity goes far beyond nursing the good relations established with its customers and partners and providing special consultancy – it includes active participation in solving tasks arising in the community. Responsible animal keeping and animal protection are not only ideas but serious tasks as well. The animal hospital operated by Alpha-Vet provides education for young pupils about responsible animal keeping in the framework of environmental science classes each year. Each year, the animal hospital of Alpha-Vet vaccinates the dogs of homeless people living in the region free of charge. The awareness of environmental issues is also part of this attitude: protection of the environment in manufacturing and in the formulation of product development strategies.

A SOUND MIND IN A SOUND BODY

We are enthusiastic sponsors of Hungarian sports life, the Mol-Vidi football club and the Hydro Fehérvár AV19 ice hockey club of Székesfehérvár. Every year, Alpha-Vet makes substantial donations to Hungarian healthcare and educational institutions, as well as to its partners operating in the social and cultural sector.

OUR COMMON VALUES The social responsibility-taking of Alpha-Vet is not limited to its leaders’ personal commitment, since a company can become a truly responsible enterprise only if its employees are also committed to this responsibility. The employees also have an opportunity to become involved in the campaigns supported by the company, and thus these common objectives will help to forge together the community. On several occasions during the year, the company organises clothes and gift collection campaigns among its employees. These donations and gifts are forwarded to homeless people and, twice every year, to Transylvanian people in need. A chocolate collection campaign was also conducted, and the collected delicacies were delivered to Hungarian orphans at Christmas. The company also organises regular blood donation campaigns at its site, which are attended by a substantial proportion of the employees. Maintaining the health of our employees has paramount importance during the pandemic, we have contributed to this with continuous screening at our sites and with the provision of state-of-the-art protection equipment and vitamin package.
