OPPORTUNITIES Source: wsj.com/read POSTED BY DONALD LATUMAHINA

Sometime we heared that “luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.” Outsiders might think that someone is lucky for being in the right place at the right time. But what they don't know is the preparation behind it. The preparation is the key. Tons of opportunities may come your way, but if you are not prepared to capitalize on them, they will mean nothing. That's why I believe it's essential that you prepare yourself for future opportunities. Don't wait until an opportunity comes before you start preparing for it. That will be too late. Instead, you should prepare yourself early; my mom always said it to me “The sooner the better”. That way, when the opportunity comes, you are ready to take advantage of it. People will see you to be in the right place at the right time.

Medical Myths Drinks with caffeine in will dehydrate you Where did the myth come frome? Lots of beverages such as tea, coffee and fizzy drinks contain caffeine . it's what makes them popular as a “pick-me-up, as caffeine is a known stimulant. But caffeine is also thought to be a diuretic, which causes kidneys to make more urine. It's therefore assumed that caffeine causes the body to produce more urine that it would normally, thus dehydrating you. It sounds sensible doesn't it? It's not true throught.

What is the truth ? The ide that drinks such as tea or coffee have a particularly strong diuretic effect appears to come from a study done in the 1920s. Conducted in just three patients, it seemed to suggest that caffeinated drinks acted as diuretic. But since then further studies have failed to show a significant effect on fluid balance within the body. In fact, studies have shown that people who get the majority of their liquid from tea or coffee are no more dehydrated in blood test that others.

So there is nothing to worry about ? Certainly there is no reason why to worry about tea, coffee, fizzy drinks dehydrating you. But you should remain mindful of the amount of sugar in these drinks.
