The first private schools in Mongolia were founded in the 1991s. Our Institute is one of these pioneers. In the first decade we achieved our goals to form the foundation, to assemble a teaching team with skillful trained staff, and to contribute to the formation and development of a new accounting system in Mongolia. Therefore, our lecturers participated in the foundation of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants and The Professional Accountants Council and in charge of president, deputy president and members. We have joined in the development and amendment to the Law on Accounting and Auditing and other regulations. In addition to this, we have made contributions to creating suitable accounting textbooks, practical experiences in accounting as a guideline, and the renewed accounting of over 30 companies. We won a training grant, which was financed by the Asian Development Bank and World Bank, for introducing international standards to the private and public sectors in 2003 and 2005. It was a great contribution to the development of the Mongolian financial system. In the second decades, we have been implementing the aims and objectives to work in every capacity to upgrade training technology, curriculum and training programs to the similar standard of the institutes and universities in developed countries, so as to prepare skilled specialists who can work overseas. In order to implement these objectives, we have progressed foreign relations with inviting experienced lecturers, involving students and teachers in Master’s and Doctor’s Programs overseas and improving the quality of subjects such as English, Computer Science, Information Technology and Communication Skills. In the third decades, our colleagues are aiming to raise our training internationally and to become an accepted university. We have willingness to cooperate for the further development and progress.

MANDAKH BURTGEL Institute provides training in the areas of accounting and information technology. Our institute was accredited first in 1999 and for the advanced level in 2005. Mandakh Burtgel Institute was selected as “Market Leader” (2007) and “Organization with top management” (2012) by the criterion of the Mongolian Marketing Association and Mongolian Management Association respectively. Mandakh Burtgel Institute is certified as “Best School” in a public survey among institutes and universities and as a “School with Good Employment” by the Mongolian Employer Association. These successes attest that our institute provides qualitative training. Today, over 2000 students attend full time and extramural courses. Over 90 lecturers work to academic training. Our teaching staff consists of highly skilled and experienced colleagues including 2 Honored teachers, 14 Doctors and Professors, 14 Certified Public Accountants, 10 Best Educators, 11 Top Accountants in Finance sector and 12 Doctoral Candidates. The lecturers of our institute have been joining in different projects and many of their research papers are presented in domestic and international conferences. Moreover, the textbooks and some guidelines created by our teachers and lecturers are widely used in other universities. Our faculties obtained above Master’s Degree and gained greater knowledge successfully in education sector. Today, our colleagues are working to improve the quality of academic training and Scientific Research towards the international standard, to ensure success in the financial and accounting fields. We are proud of as being first accredited institute twice with Accounting Academic Program in 2006 and 2012. We hope, that everyone who turns to our institute will have greater satisfaction. DEPARTMENT OF ACOUNTING AND FINANCE The purpose of the department is to contribute in the acts of preparing professionals by providing students with relevant knowledge and skills of accounting and finance according to the national and international standards. The Department of Accounting and Finance of MANDAKH BURTGEL institute was founded in 1992. The department consists of 23 faculties: /PhD/-4, Professor-3, Associate Professor-2, Certified Public Accountant-13, Tax Advisory Accountant-2, and Certified Appraiser of Mongolia-5. The department deploys the Fundamental Accounting, Intermediate Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Advanced Financial Accounting, Financial Analysis, Audit, Tax Theory and Policy, Insurance Policy, Accounting Information system and Financial Management courses, etc. Along with deploying above courses, the department has actively participated in activities such as reforming accounting standard of Mongolia and International Accounting Standard /IAS/ also contributing it for entities. Moreover we have been translating professional textbooks and other information resources into Mongolian.

DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMICS AND BUSINESS The purpose of the department is to be in charge of Academic Research and Training of the Mandakh Burtgel Institute. The Department of Economics and Business was founded in 2004. The faculty consists of 20 lecturers: Doctor, PhD-5, Doctoral Candidates -5, Master -10. It provides instruction in Economic Theory, Higher Mathematics, Development Economics, International Economics, Banking and Finance Basics, Management, Physical Education, Ecology, Mongolian History, Business law-in all, 31 different subjects taught for Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors.

More than 4,000 alumni are working successfully in the fields of economics and finance in Mongolia. About 300 alumni have qualified as Mongolian Certified Public Accountants and some of graduates have been accepted as CPAs abroad such as in the USA, England, Canada and Australia. More than 60 alumni are teaching accounting subjects in private and state universities. Many of alumni have become leading accountants and auditors and are working in important positions throughout the country.
