Sylvia’s art book. Sylvia loves color and sparkles and paint. She’s had the joy of attending Monona Grove Nursery School since she was a wee lass, and I’ve enjoyed watching her artistic creations evolve over her four years at the school. Each week, she comes home with a brown bag full of fantastic artistic creations. We displayed her art prominently around the house, and to keep room for the new creations, I took to photographing all her masterpieces. You’re holding a compendium of Sylvia’s artwork from her two years of Toddler Time (starting at 19 months) through the first half of 4K (age 4). I have drawn so much joy and amazement from this art over the years, and I hope that as you flip through this book you can get a sense for the color and the wonderful imaginative imagry of childhood.
Sylvia started attending Toddler Time at Monona Grove Nursery School when she was 19 moths old in September 2009. The two hour-parent/child play time was so much fun for both of us. Our first year, her teacher was Diana, and some of her favorite parts were the crows and dancing to the the fish song. Sylvie also spent one day a week at Donna’s in-home daycare, and between the two, she brought home lots of fun art.
During the 2010-11 school year, Sylvia went to Donna’s house on Mondays, and then on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, we attended Toddler Time together. Sylvia loved her teachers, Patrice and Diana, and we both enjoyed some wonderful times with friends.
After two years of Toddler time, Sylvia was so excited to be a preschooler! She attended Jodi and Sue’s class on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Mondays, she enjoyed a final year at Donna’s daycare. Sylvia seemed to wear a costume each moment of preschool (mostly her Minnie costume), and she started writing some letters. Such a fun world to explore!
Sylvia started 4K at Monona Grove Nursery School in September 2012. She is in Diana and Juli’s class four days a week. This last year of preschool is so precious to me! We spend our Mondays having Mommy and Sylvie time, and the other days of the week, she spends her mornings creating and imagining.
