(SIN TÍTULO) Titular algo es una acción cuyo único objetivo es intermediar en la interpretación y la libre visualización del individuo frente a la obra. Por el contrario, el simple hecho de titular “Sin título” a todas aquellas obras cuyos autores decidieron no incurrir en esa subjetividad -que finaliza, ineludiblemente, en la objetividad y el sesgo- es un concepto que ilustra a la perfección lo intangible del oxímoron. A principios de 2020, comencé a plasmar en soportes de diverso tamaño, forma y material varios de los experimentos autodidactas que llevaba realizando sobre distintos materiales pobres y su posible aplicación a las artes plásticas. Ese retorno a cierto industrialismo primitivo y, al mismo tiempo, adentrarse en la concepción del valor de dichos elementos y objetos, dio como resultado un nuevo concepto sobre el que enmarcar esa plasmación de las formas derivadas de una manipulación básica de los materiales. Dada la formalidad informal que otorga el uso de esos materiales y su maleabilidad sobre espacios definidos, me encontré ante un nuevo oxímoron, el que aludía al volumen exterior de las formas ceñidas en un marco bidimensional. Telas, ropa, plásticos maleables inservibles, cartones, pinturas y tintes en diversos estados de solidificación y una gama cromática que se iba abriendo desde la primera obra que enmarco en esta serie recuperaban la tradición del material como parte fundamental de una pintura que iba ganando espacios volumétricos sobre los que operar, áreas –en su gran mayoría- producto de la inmediatez de la manipulación aleatoria y de la firmeza y capacidad de resistencia de los materiales. Ante la conformidad que tenía frente a lo que iba produciendo, sumado a esa cantidad de conceptos contrarios entre sí, pero complementarios, decidí jugar también con un título y una serie. Cada “Sin título”, que alude a la obligatoriedad externa de apelar a la destrucción de la interpretación, está acompañado de un título enmarcado entre paréntesis que restan su relevancia. El latín, como elemento primigenio de nuestro lenguaje verbal y escrito actual, hace las veces de guía de este particular nomenclátor conceptual, aludiendo –casi siempre- a un concepto o característica básica con el que cumplir con una norma, pero abriendo la mente hacia la libre interpretación.
(SIN TÍTULO) Titling something is an action whose sole objective is to mediate the interpretation and free visualization of the individual towards a piece. On the contrary, the simple fact of titled "Untitled" to all those works whose authors decided not to incur that subjectivity -which ends, inescapably, in objectivity and bias- is a concept that perfectly illustrates the intangibility of the oxymoron . At the beginning of 2020, I began to capture on supports of different size, shape and material several of the self-taught experiments that I had been carrying out on different poor materials and their possible application to the plastic arts. This return to a certain primitive industrialism and, at the same time, delving into the conception of the value of said elements and objects, resulted in a new concept on which to frame this embodiment of the forms derived from a basic manipulation of materials. Given the informal formality that the use of these materials gives and their malleability on defined spaces, I found myself facing a new oxymoron, the one that alluded to the external volume of the tight forms in a two-dimensional frame. Fabrics, clothing, useless malleable plastics, cardboard, paints and dyes in various stages of solidification and a color range that was opening from the first work that I frame in this series recovered the tradition of the material as a fundamental part of a painting that was gaining space volumetric on which to operate, areas -mostly- product of the immediacy of random manipulation and the firmness and resistance of the materials. Given the conformity I had with what I was producing, added to that amount of contrary concepts, but complementary, I also decided to play with a title and a series. Each "Untitled", which alludes to the external obligation to appeal to the destruction of the interpretation, is accompanied by a title framed in parentheses that reduce its relevance. Latin, as a primitive element of our current verbal and written language, acts as a guide for this particular conceptual gazetteer, alluding -almost always- to a basic concept or characteristic with which to comply with a norm, but opening the mind towards the free interpretation.
