QSCC AT Toronto Pride! Hello Thank you for joining us at the Toronto Pride Parade this year! The Parade is part of a month long event across the GTA. This is a time for celebrating queer identities and the LGBTQ community, so we hope you have a wonderful time with us. This document outlines information that will hopefully answer any questions you might have, but if you have more questions, please email us at qscc@msu.mcmaster.ca.

Itinerary Morning sign in will begin at 9:30 AM until 10:00, please ensure that you have registered online before the day to make the process run smoothly. When it is time to go, we will be using the HSR and GO bus to get to Allan Gardens in Toronto. Once we arrive at Allan Gardens, we will have time to rally with the McMaster EngiQueers as well as some other universities! This is also an opportunity to grab food, face-paint, or wander the nearby street fair happening on Church Street. The map at the end of this document lists nearby facilities and the parade route. If you are meeting us in Toronto, please find your way to Allan Gardens for sign in around noon. At 1:30, when we will start walking towards the Parade Entry Point to join the parade! 9:30 10:00 12:00 1:30 1:45

The parade itself should take about an hour, after which we will begin commuting back to McMaster. Please note that there will be a festival-wide moment of silence for the victims of the Orlando Shooting at 3:00 PM if we are still in the parade at that time. 2

What to Bring Here’s a list of things to pack that will prepare you for the day and keep you safe! • Health Card and ID • A reusable water bottle • Snacks • Sun Screen • Umbrella (for shade) • Comfortable closed-toe shoes • The most colorful outfit you can put together • Signs you want to hold up during the parade! • Backpack • Money for transportation and food

Transportation To get to Allan Gardens, we will be taking the 5A bus at the Sterling stop in front of the student center to Main at John. From there we will walk to the Hamilton Go Centre, where you can buy tickets, or reload your Presto card (this is the most cost efficient option, costing about $10 per trip) if you have one. We will then take the 16 Go Bus to Union Station. Once at Union, we will walk to Allan Gardens. For those meeting us in Toronto, the Address of Allan Gardens is 19 Horticultural Ave, Toronto, ON M5A 2P2. At the end of the Parade, we will take the Yonge-University subway line to Union Station, and take the 16 Go Bus back to McMaster from there. If you lose the group at any time, please contact the Coordinator (contact info below) for instructions on how to find us, or for directions!
