Bored with seemingly endless political campaigns, the manager of television station WART announces that his station will no longer accept any political advertising. Watch WART, a politics-free zone.” Several weeks before the November election, Jesse Horn, candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives, seeks to buy advertising time on WART. Mildred Smith, a candidate for the state legislature, also seeks to buy advertising time on WART. The station refuses both requests, citing its “no politics” policy. Both candidates complain to the FCC. a. How would the FCC respond to Horn’s complaint? b. How would the FCC respond to Smith’s request? c. How has the FCC evolved through the years regarding issues such as these? Your initial post should be at least 250 words in length.
