PROJECTS OF 5TH SEMESTER URBAN OASIS

REFRESH THE EYE

human sense is a medium for every living creatures to enjoy the world we live in. and architecture will be the second medium, to uphold the living beings respond the stimulus they accept through their senses. i believe architecture and human sense are two things related to each other. thus, architecture and human sense will always be the significant issue for every design that architect make.

PROJECTS OF 5TH SEMESTER URBAN OASIS: SITE ANALYSIS The location of this project is located in Basuki Rahmat street, Surabaya. The site area is approximately 4300sqm. The site is surrounded by a lot of skycrapper buildings, very metropolis neighbourhood, and of strategic area in Surabaya. from this areA, there are several things that can be brought up in to the design issue: 1. the heat of the environment was too high 2. noise 3. air polution 4. surrounded by skycrapper buildings 5. full of hardscapes area 6. high land values 7. strategic location

THUS, WHAT IF THERE IS A BUILDING THAT HAS A VERY DIFFERENT CONTEXT TO THEIR CIRCUMSTANCE? THE PLACE THAT CAN BE ‘THE REST AREA’ FOR the ‘uniform’ neighbourhood. the place that can stimulate the sight and olfactory sense of every person that coming here. FROM HERE, THERE CAME UP THE IDEA TO BUILD THIS URBAN OASIS THAT BASED ON THE ISSUE OF ARCHITECTURE AND HUMAN SENSE. urban oasis will be an oasis in the middle of urban area of surabaya, with urban farming land inside, this building will refresh the mind, the eye, the olfactory sense of every person coming here.

BULETIN WRAP (WORDS OF STHAPATI) #2: SOPHOMORE

i enjoy every process on making this buletin because it helps me to enhance my creativity while making the layout, besides while writing an article we have to write it truthfully, without exaggeration, and understood by the readers.

last but not least, i love the process of making a buletin because writing and trying something new about graphic design is one of my hobbies. so when i already drown on making something related to graphic design, writing, or reading, it must be my kind of escape from doing my college’s duties and assignments. :)
