As we head into the winter season and settle in at EAPRD we are excited to celebrate the goals we have accomplished and we now endeavor to set new goals. Programming has successfully launched with regular attendance of members in programs ranging from Cycling to TRX class. We have exceeded surrounding communities in Silver Sneakers enrollment within our first quarter. The center has experienced the excitement of hosting an increased amount of local volleyball games with the additional gym space. The community room and party rooms continue to receive steady booking reservations with weddings, birthday parties, corporate trainings and supplementing our class programming. Our most recent project coming to completion soon is the concession and restroom facilities located at the Community Ball Field Park. The amenity will provide an ease of access to restrooms and the ability for concessions provided at tournaments. The challenges facing the board and facility directors now are coordinating programming to maximize efficiency and accommodate the demand for more classes and possible longer opening hours. We continue constant review at our monthly board meetings of our budget analysis with the assistance of our financial advisor Alan Holmberg. Our initial success could not happen without the tremendous support of our shareholders and the dedication of our hard-working staff. We are fortunate to live in a community where health and fitness are a priority for all ages. We look forward to tackling the challenges of continued growth and facility planning to ensure the center is offering the highest level of customer service along with programming and maintaining a state of the art facility. - Julie Kennedy, EAPRD Vice President DISTRICT DIRECTOR MESSAGE
We have come to an interesting intersection in the very brief history of the Eaton Area Park & Recreation District. Over the past five years, three years for me, the goal and vision was clear. Create a financially stable, multipurpose community facility for Eaton and the surrounding communities - Check. Now what though? How do we continue to be groundbreaking? Innovative? Effective? Efficient? Responsible? Transparent? Develop Community Relations? All buzzwords and concepts that we turn to leading into 2018. The process is underway already and we as a staff are not afraid to involve all of you! Look forward to being sought out. Your opinions, your customer experience as a parent, coach, or participant. We want to make sure that what we provide is exactly what you want. Our job becomes simple at that point; we get the opportunity to fit your ideas and dreams into our budgets and world of recreation. What can come of it? Who knows, maybe we continue to be good at what we do and what we provide, or maybe, just maybe we begin to change the industry of recreation. We show that when school districts, towns, communities and truly special, motivated, smart individuals with the right intentions and priorities work together, the quality of life for the shareholder becomes like nowhere else – the Eaton Way. CODE OF CONDUCT
• C hildren ages 0-9 must be directly supervised by a responsible person age 14 and above unless the child is participating in a EAPRD sponsored activity. • No food or beverages will be allowed past the lobby with the exception of bottled water and sports drinks. • Eaton Area Parks & Recreation District reserves the right to withhold service to any patrons who refuse to follow district guidelines and code of conduct while in a district facility or while attending or participating in any district program.
• Guests are strongly encouraged to bring their own lock or purchase one at the Welcome Desk. Lockers are for daily use only, items left in lockers will be removed and placed in lost and found. EAPRD is not responsible for lost and or stolen items. • A valid form of identification is required for equipment check out. Acceptable forms include EACC pass, school ID, library card, drivers license or other government issued ID. • A lthough we encourage alternative modes of transportation to the EACC, bicycles, skateboards, and scooters are not allowed inside the facility and are not to be used recreationally on sidewalks or planters on site. All guests utilize the Eaton Area Community Center at their own risk. The Eaton Area Park & Recreation District expects reasonable and appropriate behavior from those who utilize district facilities and participate in district activities. The EAPRD has developed a code of conduct to ensure the safe enjoyment of all services and reserves the right to deny admission or take disciplinary action against those in violation. A violation includes, but is not limited to, the use of obscene language or gestures, theft, disorderly conduct, public intoxication, sexual misconduct, indecency, harassment, failure to cooperate with EACC staff, possession of unlicensed weapons of any kind, non-compliance with established policies and procedures, an unlawful act, and any other behavior considered offensive or unacceptable.
• P roper swim attire is required in the pool area, including mesh-lined trunks for males and swim suits for females, workout and/street clothing is strictly prohibited. Slide users must wear swim suits that are free of grommets, buttons or other materials that may damage the surface of the slide. It is recommended that swimmers remove bulky or dangling jewelry when using the pool, slide and hot tub. Street clothes are strictly prohibited.

YOUTH PASS (AGES 3-21)
• Annual passes may be purchased in 12 monthly installments, or in full. Discounts are given for annual passes being paid in full. All other passes must be paid in full at time of purchase. Annual and monthly passes renew automatically unless otherwise noted. • D istrict discount rates apply to non-exempt residents of the Eaton Area Park & Recreation District. The EAPRD is largely made up of the Weld RE-2 School District and excludes any certain areas within the Severance and Greeley city limits. Property tax is the main funding for the EAPRD, so those contributing District property taxes are eligible to receive our in-district discount rates. • D D-District Discount Rate • N D-Non District Rate • 2 0 punch passes may be used by more than one person and expire 5 years from purchase. We’re just getting our feet wet, the best is yet to come! The Eaton Area Community Center is home to one of two Myrtha Pools in Colorado. This innovative aquatics center was constructed by and is the same company that manufactures the pool for many of the world class competitions including the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics, World Championships and USA Olympic Trials. Built in Italy, but assembled in Eaton, this high performance, and energy conserving aquatics center is more than just another pool. Your aquatics center includes these innovative features: high efficiency boilers, automatic daylight sensor controls, 40 skylights, low water usage Defender filtration systems, and the use of ultraviolet light for peak water sanitation throughout the pool. All these combine this combine to bring to Eaton a safe, state of the art facility sure to bring smiles to all ages!

We have not one, not two, but THREE large multipurpose community rooms, each attached to what could possibly be the crown jewel of the entire facility—our outdoor patio. community members who register early! Early Bird Registration allows a $10 discount to published program pricing. In addition, regular registration will be offered as usual. Early Bird Registration will typically be one week prior to Regular Registration. It can be very difficult to form teams, finalize rosters, communicate information with coaches, order extra jerseys, update invoices, etc. when late registrations occur. The Season Timeline (listed above) is difficult to follow with the number of late registrations that are processed every sport, every season. The Eaton Area Park & Recreation District strives to serve the community and offer programs of interest in any possible way. Early Bird Registration allows you a program discount and us the ability to manage programs effectively…a win/win for all! Teams will be formed based upon a request system and by the Recreation Coordinator. During registration, parents/guardians will have the opportunity to make 1 of 4 requests: 1) Coach Request – A request for the participant to play on a specific coach’s team. Please confirm with the coach prior to registration that he/she is in fact coaching this season/ sport/age division. The Eaton Area Park & Recreation District will not provide a list of coaches.

2) Player/Friend Request – A request to play on the same team as one specific player or friend. If you request more than 1 player or friend, the first listed will only be considered.

3) Practice Days Request – A request to practice on a specific day or time. We do our best to accommodate these requests, however each coach selects the team’s practice days and times. 4) No preference If requests for any preference, whether it is a certain coach or a certain player/friend exceeds the amount of roster slots, priority is given based on registration date and time. We will attempt to honor all requests, but retain the right to deny any request to maintain team equality. Therefore, requests are considered and not guaranteed. “Playing Up” – If the parent would like to consider their child playing up ONE age/grade level, please fill out a request form at www.eaprd.com and return the form to the Recreation Coordinator, Caryl Abeyta, at carylabeyta@eaprd.com. Please allow one week to process.

a uniform for any specific program, sizes will be placed based on size given. If the size given and ordered is not satisfactory, and the order was at no fault to the Eaton Area Park & Recreation District, the individual will be responsible for ordering and paying for a different size on their own. All uniforms will be ordered through Monarch Promotional Designs. Sample sizes are available in the Eaton Area Community Center. Every attempt will be made to allow practices and play games; however, if field and/or weather conditions present an unsafe environment for participants, spectators, coaches, officials, and/or staff, we will postpone or cancel practices and games. Field supervisors are instructed to err on the side of caution when it comes to inclement weather decisions.

SCHOLARSHIPS
Scholarships are available for eligible participants. A Scholarship Request Form must be filled out in person at the Eaton Area Community Center prior to registration. A refund request must be filled out at the Eaton Area Community Center. A refund will only be granted during the registration dates for the program requesting the refund. Little Kickers is more than just a great introduction to soccer – the program is designed to enhance your child’s overall growth and well-being by focusing on building important skills such as balance and coordination. A DANCE PLACE
A Dance Place will be offering a variety of dance classes at the Eaton Area Community Center. Dance classes are taught in a fun and creative environment. Dance participants will learn dance technique, self-esteem, discipline, poise, balance, teamwork, and much more! Classes begin the week of January 1. Preschool Combo – An excellent introduction to a wide variety of dance, all while they’re having constant fun! Instructors will help children discover tap, ballet, and jazz by using age-appropriate music and games to stimulate both the mind and body. Children come to appreciate the way they interact with their environment and those around them, including their instructor and peers. Tap/Ballet 1 –Tap and ballet might seem daunting, so our class is a low-pressure introduction to the fundamentals of both dance styles that shows your young one just how fun each can be. Dance & Tumble – Take what kids do naturally and shape it into dance! Dance & Tumble is a great combination of tumbling, creative movement, and gymnastics set to kid-friendly music. They’ll learn moves like forward rolls and cartwheels, and be having fun as they’re strengthening the bond between music and movement with imaginative dance. Hip Hop - is a wonderful combination of teamwork and improvisation. It also incorporates amazing feats of body control (think break-dancing) that your child will impress his or her friends with for years. The award-winning program, Learn Bridge in a Day, gives busy folks a convenient way to begin their bridge experience. It is a great place both for those who are new to bridge and for lapsed players who need to get the rust off their game. Participants are introduced to modern concepts of bidding, card play and scoring. The LBIAD materials have been extensively field-tested and designed to increase your knowledge, confidence and enjoyment. There will be hospitality breaks and lunch is included. The Eaton Area Park & Recreation District believes that by providing access to swim lessons we are promoting wellness and safety amongst our community. We invite you to join our 30-minute nationally recognized American Red Cross, Learn-ToSwim program. This balanced program teaches swimming skills for all abilities and promotes safety in, on and around the water. Classes are taught by professional instructors, in a safe and fun learning environment.
AGES: 6 MONTHS – 3 Parent & Tot will help young children become comfortable in, on and around the water so that when the time comes, they are ready to learn how to swim.
AGES: 3 - 5 Preschool 1 will introduce basic water skills; submerging and blowing bubbles, gliding on front with support, entering and exiting the water, rolling to back, back floating with support and recovering to a vertical position. Prerequisite: Child must be ready to participate in a group setting.
Prerequisite: Pass Preschool 1; OR Go underwater without hesitation; comfortable floating on front and back with support. Preschool 3 is the next step to ensure that your child learns how to be safe in, on and around the water and to swim well. This class continues to develop swimming and water safety skills; treading water, front and back floats for 15 seconds, using combined arm and leg action on front, rolling from front to back and rolling from back to front to continue swimming.
Level 4 improves stroke proficiency and focus on swimming longer distances. Students’ will work toward swimming 25 yards of front crawl and elementary backstroke, swimming 15 yards of breaststroke, butterfly, back crawl, and side stroke and be introduced to open turns. Prerequisite: Pass Level 3; OR Swim 15 yards’ front crawl with rotary breathing. Level 5 refines the six swimming strokes introduced in level 4. Classes include activities and drills that are engaging and challenging; longer distance swims, new water safety skills, and flip turns. Prerequisite: Pass Level 4; OR Swim 25 yards’ front crawl and elementary backstroke, 15 yards’ breaststroke, butterfly, back crawl and side stroke. Level 6 implements high expectations in regard to distance and quality of swimming strokes. Class goals; swim 500 yards continuously, perform open and flip turns while swimming, circle swimming, survival floating and swimming, and treading water for 2 minutes. Children under the age of 6 who cannot pass the swim test must have a parent within arm’s length reach at all time. A ratio of one adult per three children is required. Children under the age of the 14 must pass a swim test to use the lap pool, entry area, slide, and/or river.

Daddy Daughter Dance To be held annually each February, the Daddy Daughter Dance is a chance to allow fathers or father figures the opportunity to set an example and a standard for how their daughters should be treated on a date. It is also an opportunity to build a relationship between fathers and daughter and make special memories. The Eaton Area Park & Recreation District cordially invites all young ladies in ages 4-14 with their fathers or favorite male father figure to attend our Daddy Daughter Dance. Participants can dance the night away to music provided by a DJ. Each young lady will receive a corsage, snacks, chocolate fondue and refreshments to be provided.
