AMANDA GOMES Abstract Watercolor Designs + Lettering
WATERCOLOR DESIGN My abstract work is a study of color blends and water ratios. Watercolor has an amazing mind of it’s own, and while the amount of water and the particular brush strokes encourage the colors to either sit or flow, the finished piece always offers an element of surpise and delight. I create with simple swashes that connect to become a lovely arrangement that stands on its own, or can made into a repeating pattern.
LETTERING Using tiny, round watercolor brushes and either liquid watercolor or tubes, my lettering is a variation of my own handwriting. I enjoy creating in different styles depending on the particular project, but each have similarities to each other and are a bit imperfect, yet thoughtful.
